Welcome nice truck im sure they sell a direct bolt on master/ booster thats a direct bolt in. The booster might even be a bit of overkill for now with the 4 10" drums on a fairly light truck. But thats just me . Your right it looks as if the owner took good care of it.

Winter is almost over and time to get a full summer with the 1957 GMC 1/2 ton I bought last Thanksgiving.  It's been years since I've had a custom to work on but its got to be like riding a bike right.  hope so.

I used to lower trucks when I was a teenager, simple static drops like swapping coils/spindles or pressing leaf springs adding blocks. etc..  Now with the '57 I'm looking at swapping for full front IFS and adding airbags...but I'm sure we'll get it done sooner or later.

My truck is in good shape, only has some rusted out body mounts as big issues.  It was restored in the 90's and I think the owner took good care of it.  In the spring, I'm looking at fixing the body mounts, changing to power brakes (drums all around until IFS gets installed), and doing some cosmetic stuff like painting the red bumpers to a dark grey.

Groundbound64 is responsible for me buying mine and in a way (cuz I bought first), I'm sure I'm responsible for getting him to buy his '64 (cuz he was originally looking at 80's full size trucks).

Glad to be on here, if you have a spot for me to work on my truck in the winter (heated a must), let me know as I waste precious months waiting for Spring.

i put a dual master on the beast last year, i wouldn't go power because it stop great, but then i've changed the rearend up to a truck 12 bolt off a 78 jimmy and the rear drums are humongous compared to the fronts. i have locked up all four with the original brakes when i had a local yokal pull out in front of me near christie lake on the 7. i was also towing the 63 wagon, damn near had to clean my shorts. one of my buddies put a dual master on the firewall on his 57 chev truck last year we used a 69 gmc as a donor.
