Just read Poncho62's post about his old '55 Chevy and started thinking this would be a cool topic for a lot of our members. Most of my old Hot Rods have gone to the States but a few are probably still lurking around Ontario. My first actual pre 48 Hot Rod was this T bucket back in '72. I saw it at the Barrie Swap for sale a few different times over the years and Poncho got me wondering where it might be. It had a Vetter rear end and Jag front discs on a suicide mounted early Ford axle. Back then it was yellow as you can see and it had a chrome firewall with a host of rod run plaques on it. SBC powered with a full manual 400TH trans. Be neat to know where it is. That's me and my best girl about 40 years ago. Still got her but the roadster went down the road in about '74

Nice pic ragtop, a great keeper!! Curious what is the background in that pic, looks like guardrails?
I'm pretty sure that was taken in the motel parking lot in Burlington at the '73 Canats. We drove that car to Tulsa that year too. Had a top made but no side curtains and it rained from Indy all the way down. I had one of those little model T hand operated wipers! We towed a little camper trailer and the water in the KOA got so high we got wet in our sleeping bags. Ended up partying all night in the Chalet/laundry room with about 40 other rodders in the same boat (no pun intended). Molson Canadian was well received in the land of Coors back then. In Burlington, those drag 500s were worn so bad there was no little holes left to tell you how much rubber was left on them after a few passes through the Burlington "Streetkana" in a shopping mall parking lot no less. It was a wonder no-one got killed. Some vender at Canats fell in love with the slicks and traded me straight up for a set of new slotted mags and new pro track tires. I even got him to throw in a t shirt and a tire gauge!

Thanx John. I'm not seriously looking like we did for your car but I just thought it would be fun to know where it is or what happened to it. It would be neat to see others post similar pics. With the membership we have now someone's bound to see something someone once owned and loved. I remember the sound of those headers. Lary Agla and I built them and we welded a washer in each one to serve as a muffler! didn't work too well. I think that's why I have some hearing loss today! I'd shut the car off after driving all day and I could still hear it in my head long after bunking down for the night.

I brought this 57 back from california when I lived there. It had lightly flared rear wheel wellls and a patch in the drivers floor from a hidden box in the floor.

There's a car similar to the bucket, but painted flat black, in Bowmanville on Taunton Road just East of Bethesda. I'll try to check it out and take a picture. It's been sitting uncovered for a while now...
Not too many with the turtle deck and the altered wheelbase like mine was. It'd be interesting to see if it's the same car. The headers I made were gone long ago but you can tell by the Vette Rear end and the Jag front discs on a non dropped '37 Ford I beam axle up front.
