I Like where you are going with it,,,the rear fenders on the black car look quite similar to 46 ford pickup fenders. You could just get some tin bent up to make a box and bolt some fibreglass repop fenders on..you'll have it done by Sunday,,,on further inspection this could take all week..Can you find a link to the build on the black truck? That could offer some quick solutions.

The lines on it look a bit odd !! IMO it just looks like someone removed the top rear half and that's it. Using the small 1/4 window, and retaining the original rear wheel arch I think is what ruins it. The lines are not as nice as the black one.

I have to admit, I rolled my eyes a bit when I read the title, but that black P/up actually looks pretty cool !! Be handy too !! Keep the pics coming !!
Cool project. I have wanted to do something like that for a while. I know it's been done to several different cars over the years. Some day maybe I'll build one too.

i saw a dodge shadow years ago done into a pickup, really nice lines it worked well, the secret is the finish and how good the back window fits into the build, ive seen some hacked off stuff with a sheet of lexan for a window, nasty!
Ya we got a PT, now I just have to find the place that sells all the stickon, bolton ,magnetic, painted and chrome plated accessories so I can make mine look like all the other yuppie mobiles I have seen at some shows lately.Humm I wonder if they sell fender skirts for a PT. Ed
My wife has a Plymouth truck (as the ins call it) really a convertible but they can be made to look not to bad..My wife loves hers ,I hate working on that engine..it's the turbo runs great but it only has 43,000ks on it ..I dressed it a little for her
A fellow in my area did the same to an AMC Pacer, but he forgot to put the drain holes back in place and it held water like an aquarium! Thats gonna look SHARP when completed

Wow, I'm a little suprised at the number of replies... The kids wont drive a standard, so it's my new experimental toy. The PT with the viper motor in it is what started the whole idea, then I saw the black one and my mind was set. I tried to contact the poster of the pics in the PT forum that Beachcat posted but so far no reply. If anyone is ever in the Baden area, stop in for a pop, I am really interested in ideas on how to attack this thing as I am just feeling my way through it, (alot of trial and error).
I've started a picture library if anyone would like to see more. https://drive.google.com/?usp=chrome_app#folders/0B7RPsA49QYZyOTNSWjdhblZrQzg
I'm can't go to much farther as I am trying find someone local to help me with my panels. If anyone knows someone in the Kitchener area that would/could help me out with fabricating of the panels, shoot me a meassage. At the end of the day I really would like to say that I did it myself but that is maybe a little ambitous for my first project.
I like the idea of the late 40's fenders, I feel that the lines of the PT lend themselves to that era. That will wait till spring when I can hit the swap meets and wreckers.

Is the "Pop" cold? LOL, I'm not a panel maker, but I'm just around the corner. I think I may just have a few things laying around that could help you move forward. I'll get in touch with you shortly. That's a kewl looking project, and a little ambitious also.
More updates, this is where the progress will slow down as I'm playing with a couple of ideas for the back half. Right now I think I'm gong to mimic a 37 dodge box, fenders have curve that will match the front fenders and the rest of the box is nice and simple.
Seriously "LOUD" shoutout to Ron P. for the work on the cab. I couldn't be happier... Thanks Dude
He used a sheet metal brake to bend up some bracing on the inside of the cab. Everything else he hammered out (or in...) by hand. I only managed to spend a couple of days there with him, learned a TON. I have to wait to make dust in the shop, hopefully hit some auto flea markets soon and get that box started.

A little more progress, just keep sticking on a piece at a time. Looking for a tailgate from an old 30's - 40's fargo tailgate with raised steel letters.
I always wondered why they didn't make a PT sedan delivery, like the Chev HHR.
Your project is coming along quite well. Some fine metal working going on there.
Would it look a bit better if the roof came down a couple inches at the back?
Your right Jarvis, I wish I would have chopped the roof 2", but the cab is finished and I really want to finish this this winter. This project has already grown way past the original intent, and budget... Maybe in a couple of years I'll chop it. I've got a Camaro thats going to get done right after this one is finished. Probably should have done the Camaro first, It needs a lot less work.
