I have always loved the sound of the "sexy six". We ran a hobby car or Canadian Vintage Modified years ago and have always wanted to put an inline together for a street rod. They still run the sixes in some cars but are slowly being replaced by V8 crate motors. The rules restrained what you could do to them but they were still around 300 hp. It is just they sound of a high reving six that sounds so cool. Here is a video from Sauble that gives a bit of the sound, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx67yyhtMEI What do you think?

Here is a picture of my 302 GMC that powers my 35 chevy, it has .125 over aries pistons, custom ground crane cam, Mgurk 5-cark intake and fenton headers
Some years ago , I went to Flamboro Speedway and besides the late model races , there was a " hobby club " of some sort that ran either flathead V-8's or straight 6's . Cars looked really good , nice paint and chrome , and there wasn't much bashing , just good racing . I was most impressed with the 6's that ran ....guys seemed to have most of them dialed in . I don't know what ever happened to that group as I moved down here to the Windsor area , but they sure were impressive back then 70's- 80's .
teejay99, i too used to watch those "Hobby Cars" the class was called, and as you say it was good clean and economical racing. The hobby class nowdays is the 4cyl class as a lot of those inline 6's are not easy to find like they where back then.
teejay99 and sasquatch, Hobby Cars are now called Canadian Vintage Modifieds (http://www.vintagemods.com/). The last flat head ran about '81 or '82 and since then it has been inline 6s. In the past few years they started running V8 crate engines as an alternative since the 6s are getting hard to come by. It is a traveling show with the home track being Flamboro Speedway. The cars have not changed a lot like other classes that evolve to the point where they are not affordable and go away. Still the best oval track racing around here.

Thanks Spinner, i haven't been to Flamboro for years, watched a lot of super modifieds there, then the late models like "Howie Scannel, Earl Ross, Norm Lelliot, Doug Warnes," guys like that. Watched "Parkdale" auto wreckers win a feature there one night with a "Torino" with only one rear wheel!! (Lost it going onto turn 3, but made it around again in a huge shower of sparks and took the checkered. Good driving!! Lol
