Car plaques....What does everyone think about having some made..For Ont Rodders
Permalink

Not sure I have done this right but if not maybe Harry can fix it up or not..

I had a correspondence with brother "Molten" (Shawn)  who happens to have a foundry and has the ability to make aluminum car plaques ..I would really like to have a plaque for my car ..Anybody else that would be interested..I was think maybe they could be numbered by our registration number or not ..I have seen some of his work and it is first class.. maybe he could post a picture or two of some he has cast ..This post/thread would be an opportunity for every-one to have a say..or a suggestion ..we would need permission to use the Ont Rodder name/logo ..What say you all ??????????  any interest ???? I think it would be a cool way to know who we are and give us some recognition......Please make your comments, wishes, ideas, objections, pros, cons....known here thanks for taking part ..

I removed the images so as not confuse them with car plaques..

Random sample from Internet..but these are what I am talking about..

Yes..those images ..have nothing to do with the plaque..I will/did remove them so as not not to confuse the question..Although I think some people need to get a sense of humor..they wear their pants to tight..biggrin

I believe we are talking about the Ontario Rodder logo in a drag plate, not the above images.

The above images, although humourous, would be ideal in a sticker form, for say a tool-box or such.

I can post images of my casting when I get home. I have orders that are way in front of line. Was just an idea tossed out when talking with Chuck via e-mail. Definetly not trolling for work!!

If someone is willing to make car plaques, just make them !! Do not ask for input from everyone because it will just turn into a clusterfuk !! The common sense thing is to just make it like the "Ontario Rodders" logo and be done with it.
Worst thing to ask for is "opinions" or "input" from a public forum. That's my opinion !! LOL

I use machineable wax for the pattern print. Old obsolete prints are just melted and re-cut on CNC.

Oldkoot...I am not thinking plate toppers..This is for License size plaques...I am not interested in plate toppers..More samples stolen from the internet..

Just for ideas and to see how many would be interested..I am in for two...my ride and my wifes ..and maybe a third for the motor home..

Samples..

Interesting !! I've machined that wax before, but I'm suprised that it would be able used as a sand patern for multiple parts. If you ever give any shop tours, I'd be interested. I just have to figure out where Cambourne is ??

I'd also be interested in a plaque or two, and a shop tour sounds like a great idea.

As long as they are not too big.....
As for hanging things off your bumper, you can always put a plaque in your back window, providing it's not too large.

Already talked to Harry and once I have prelim design, will get his okay and start pattern. I will of coarse have to get my other orders done prior, but this is in the que. When a sample is ready, I will let everyone know and will figure out best process to get rid of them.

I want nothing up front. Very little money will be put in by me, just a lot of time which is what I have to juggle with work and the hot-rod hobby. :)

I think the "logo" we already have at the top of the every web page is way better then the other 2 choices.

Ontario Rodders

The place for all Ontario Rodders

It certainly welcomes all and would be easily recognised by current and new members to come and would tie web site and plaques together nicely
