Well Fatstax and I made it to the big smoke today. We wen't to the Megaspeed show.Lots of cool rides and racers.First building the shiney high dollar stuff but I actually liked one of them,a black T coupe. Also there were some old 70s show cars that I was surprized and happy were still around. They reminded me of the old Speedsport shows. There were a couple of nice 70s style choppers and the gold metalflake one could live at my house any day.Lots of crime fighting cars in the second building. There were many forms of racing and tracks represened and nice to see many of my favorates ,the gassers,of all makes showing .In the next building and scattered throuout were the rats. This year the screw you attitude, which is what I like about rats, was still there but the rolling scrapyard look was replaced with a little safer look. The headliner Goldberg didn't show while we were there, which was too bad cause Fatstax still thinks he can take him.All in all a fun day checking out some cool rides with a friend. Ed
Naw, unfortunatly Fatstax forgot his camera in the truck, again. It really wouldn't matter though cause he doesn't remember to get the pictures of the camera anyway.I'm still waiting to see stuff from the drags from last year. Ed
overall it was a good show, goldberg went into hiding once he found out i was there and even postponed autograph signing until 2 pm, take that you wuss! i can agree with hemi34 about rat rods being perceived as being unsafe, the ones we saw were pretty bad. compared to what im building my rat is an engineering marvel. we did see the supervan and some turbine powered car from the sixties, way cool. there was also a lowrider club in attendance with some of their rides which was a nice change from the normal rides you see at this show. quite a few trailer queens that obviousley have never run for five minutes to save thier life.
Wonder if the T coupe is the one from Hitman Hotrods. If the owners name is Jason, he is a former part owner of Hitman ... he quit Hitman when he won something like 32 million bux in some lottery.
That's the same car
I was there all weekend with my Dad, I thought it was a great show.
Dad even got 3 awards for his Lincoln
Grand Champion was the black 56 F100 in the front hall
