What does ..BI and PD stand for..those are pretty darn rates..I pay about $650 a year for 2 mil and all acident benifits for one of my cars the 48 coupe..it is insured for $40,000 agreed value with an appraisel..the insurance has to stay on year round ..(not dropping for the winter) $100 deductable, but I can drive with no restrictions of any kind other than being impaired.. anywhere anytime...I like that it kinda lets me free for the late fall even sometimes over christmas if the weather is cold and dry it can make the Santa parade..but your rates are pretty darn good if it has no restrictions as when,where....
it should be PL PD, which is public liability public damage. thats the basic insurance you must have, so no collision. iwannagofast has the old car insurance which limits where and when you can drive your car. having normal insurance like you have makes more sense if you plan on daily driving your car like i do, to work and regular activities. funny im allowed to drop my coverage to just fire and theft on the buick in the winter months, surley your insurance company would let you do that, they just dont want you taking the coverage off completely. they might make you re certify the car if you dropped the coverage completely.

Nope they will not let me drop it for the winter they used to, but new rules this year.I have to keep coverage on all year..But for the privildge of being to drive every day anywhere it was worth it to me..
Im with you fatchuk it is well worht it. I am with Echelon. And it sounds as though iwanagofast does not have an A19 and also restrictions. Much better to pay a bit more and have the full monty.
B.I. = Bodily Injury P.D. = Public Damage both covered to $1,000,000.00
Property Damage covered to $1,000,000.00
Policy is for a full year. Why drop it when I could drive the cars when the weather is nice enough?
Also covered: Uninsured Automobile Direct compensation for Property Damage Specified Perils(not including collision, why? we fix them ourselves anyway) $100.00 deductible Comprehensive $100.00 deductible All Perils Family Protection no limit on mileage.
See Fatstax, sometimes even you might learn something.

BI & PD $1,000,000.00 deductable - $100.00
Total for both cars for the year - $229.00
You might want to check the Hagerty site on age of drivers " must have 10 years experience", my math says minimum age 26 in Ontario

public liability is bodily injury, just worded different, you havent taught me anything, the things you listed are pretty standard for most insurance coverage, vintage insurance often doesnt limit mileage, only what you use the vehicle for, they dont want it to be your daily driver. the only thing not included is collision which your policy states. as well heres some knowledge/advice for you, you should increase your coverage to 2 million, im suprised your insurer hasent advised you to do this, some functions and activities you do with your car may require higher coverage.
I will start shopping around on my next few finished projects. I'm with State Farm and they are getting to be fussy on mods - No lowered vehicles, no roll bars etc... They gave me a hard time when I first insured the Cougar and I had to take it down there so they could see that it didn't jump up and down and do tricks. They claimed the pics were sent off to head office for approval. Now I have to ask: Is this car too low to be insured?

Well Fatstax I guess I'm just a dumb b*stard. Surprising how I made it this far. This is why I keep my posts to a minimum.
Oldkoot, I cleared this with the broker before I took out the policy but thanks for the heads-up. I ended up with Hagerty's because of the age issue with Silver wheels.
Must be the cold weather ..has everybody kinda grumpy and biting at each other..
does seem that your ins is pretty cheap..and I am kinda having trouble making out what is the coverage you have egxactly..Seems like it it's just the minimum bare bones coverage
I am seeing that you have no collision coverage...?
Just Public liability..and Property damage to cover whom ever, what ever, you hit or hurt..and limited to 1 Million in liability..that won't cover much in to-days world of fancy mouth lawyers I fatality or a quadrapalegic will cost way more than 1 million in legal expenses
I would for sure check on the amount of coverage 1 million is not enough now-a-days ..you should have 2 million..My insurance company will not insure me for less than 2 ..but my coverage covers me for everything including lost wages, attendant care and I can drive my car just the same as I drive our MDX, anywhere, anytime ..the only restriction nobody under 25 ..Hmm not sure if that's my rule or the ins co..I like it though ..All this stuff is getting so complicated anymore ..seems like pages and pages of fine print that you need a lawyer just to proof read the policy before we sign on anymore..Gosh it has become a complicated expensive world ..No wonder our kids can't afford to be in the hobby..kinda glad I am getting close to end ..Hope they let us race scooters in the nursing home..I heard the liberals are already starting to plan emmission laws and rules about racing nitro scooters in the hallways and banning us from having test and tune shops in the caffateria..
Nope, not grumpy. I have no issue admitting when I'm wrong, just don't like having someone who seems to have the answer for every damn thing on the planet telling me I don't know what I signed on to. Then the Jays lost their 2nd straight opener at home last night. Jayzuz.
I'll talk to them about the 2 million, pretty good advice. I'll also look into Crosslands for next year.
Mebbe my Broker shot me a line of **** about our youngest being able to drive but I'll be damned if I put these cars on the road and have some d*ckhead behind a desk stop one of my family from driving them. It's supposed to be something to do as a FAMILY. You're right Fatchuk, it's a wonder younger people want to be involved in this sport.
The Gov't we elect to look out for us and the Companies we're OBLIGAYED to pay our hard-earned dollars to are making life more difficult every day.
Whew, I feel better.
Steve, that is a REALLY nice Cougar. Waaaay nicer than the one hitting on our 19 yr old son at Don Cherry's last night, lol.
Hey guys, anyone have any luck with a company that lets someone under 26 drive it? That's the biggest pain in the @ss for anyone young trying to get into the hobby. Theres plenty with the passion, time and know how but don't because they cant drive it.. If anyone does I would appreciate if they could send me a PM. thanks
