anyways i have a two barrel carb on my rat truck engine, i noticed the other day it was flooding at idle somewhat and gas would drip into the engine when i shut it off. i dont have the engine on the angle it was on whe it was in the buick so the carb leans forward. being a carter BBD carb, the floats work in such a way the carb must be level or at least leaned back, leaning forward made the floats not shut the needle valve. some minor adjusting of the floats solved the problem.

You shoulda just parked on a slope..to keep the bowl level..Now whatcha gonna do when the cops is after yah??? You is gonna need that extra fuel to make that big fuel dump for your escape...better get some old wood shingles to shim that baby up..lowering the float ain't duh anser...those guys runnin white lightning never lowered the fuel bowls.. Just ask Steve Earle when his grampa used to run copperhead road..
