They've been saying for many many years that if you're going to see one Nascar race in your lifetime, go to Bristol. So I did!!! We hit the summer race in August 2011 and made a week of it. We saw the Whelen Modifieds, the trucks, Nation Wide and the big boys in Sprint cup.

What a great experience- a good time had by all, we ate like Kings and many many beverages consumed!!

The Modifieds were awesome!

Enjoy that also Dennis, but short tracks are my favourite.

Barrie speedway actually opens tonight.

We have a few locals who run Barrie, including a doctor here who is quite competitive.

My son and his boss and two others won a supper with "Larry McReynolds" at Bristol a few years back.
It was a great time and McReynolds was a super down to earth guy.

I was just around the corner from there early Saturday morning that same weekend. Was loading at Excide batteries. The gal in the shipping office offered me tickets for the Sprint race. Had to turn her down. Had a funeral to attend Sunday afternoon. I'll get to Bristol yet. Now as for Martinsville, I drive past there atleast once a week.

That would be wild to see. They say that you don't need to touch the brakes unless you are pitting or need to avoid something. Just think if NASCAR was to ditch the restrictor plates... That would be wild!

it would be like the Indy 500 only with banked turns.
