Dave..where did you get the body? Looks like one I seen in Fort Erie some time ago. Was made from a sedan with a homemade back in. Think it had ford doors.Thought it looked pretty cool though. Guy said he wasn't looking to sell but it looks like he changed his mind...nice catch.

Yep, that's the one.
Really nice couple in Fort Erie sold it to me. It was just sitting out front doing nothing, so they decided it was time to let someone else have a go.
Do you know anything else about it? they didn't seem to know much.
Joe, I will defo need to come see what you have some time. And yes, I got lots of scrap metal from Grumps to practice welding with my new Lincoln
Are all your tool's metric or do you have any Imperial tool's? Lot's of the early car stuff will require imperial or sae wrench's and socket's
Watch for sale's at Canadian tire. There tool's have a lifetime warranty without a bill ,just drop the broken tool on the counter and they will give you a new one.
car look's good! What are you going to do for a frame/chassis?

If your working in that garage you better get some insulation on those outside walls! When is the house warming and tour? You were told it is a Canadian custom?

I'm still collecting parts and deciding on what the heck I'm going to build.
Glenn has kindly offered some spares I can use, which will save me a ton of money, but I need a front end before we can get started on the frame.
I'm going to redo the back of the body. I want it longer, so I need to find a pair of doors from roughly the same era. I'll cut it just at the edge of where the current doors stop, and add about 10 inches of metal. I'll also need to add more metal to the roof.
I'm getting a pair of rear corners from glenn, which is the hard to get coupe bits, so that's pretty awesome.
But I don't think I need to chop the roof down any lower, quite happy with the height.
Why not attend the MTO with a sworn affidavit, to obtain your ownership ? I am not getting technical here, however; buying and selling of ownerships and/or VIN paltes in Ontario, is not legal. I certainly understand people tend to do it from time to time, just to get their old car on the road and they certainly do not intend to commit an offence. Find an MTO Office where they actually know what they are doing and you will have your ownership in hand for your old car....
Technically selling and buying ownerships or vin plates is legal . Affixing them or representing them as part of a car they did not originally come from is illegal. real ugly charge seeing conspiracy to , or possession charges the burden is on you to prove your innocent not the other way around. If you don't want a criminal record its going to run ya 10 to 15 grand and a few years of bull. Not worth it when it can be done legal and you might be out of pocket a couple hundred bucks.

The problem I have with this "car", is that the only original part seems to be the very front and the windshield. Do you think I'd be able to get an ownership based on a metre of metal? lol
Dave, back when I bought the 29, I went to the MTO office with a signed affadavit from a lawyer (most charge about $10), bill of sale, and an appraisal done by an accredited appraiser. I wanted to pay my taxes BEFORE I added any value. You need to have a VIN # figured out before the appraisasl and affadavit. I went in presented the documents and got an new UNFIT ownership in my name. When the time comes to put it on the road, you go back to the MTO and present your unfit ownership, insurance slip, and a Safety Certificate for your new licence plates. This is what I started with
