Hey Ailsa, is it ok if I go ahead and order that brake conversion kit for my hot rod, and a new kinpin set for my spindles?

If you don't reply by lunch time I'll take it as a yes

What do you mean order? Airport swap meet is on Sunday, this is a great indoor swapmeet, may not find a brake conversion

but I would search it out for the king pins .  What axle are you using by the way. Lots of stuff may swap if you look for the info

Thanks Joe, I will be a cheap basterd with most things, but I really want new brakes on this beasty.

Ordered everything from Speedway, and setup a US address in Niagara to save on postal charges (150 saved!!!)

I'd never slam anyone for mocking up a project! Use it as a tool- It serves many purposes, one of the most important is for motivation!!! Another biggie is for visualizing, laying out and measuring for your new custom frame.

I commend you for doing this first as I've seen plenty of rods that obviously skipped this process....wasn't pretty.

The vision you had parked in your brain is now able to be accurately transferred to my brain....and I really like the look of it!!!

What a great day.

Drove to Niagara NY, quick body cavity search at the border, picked up my stuff at US Adress (very efficient), another prostate exam and dollar extraction at the Canadian border, and home in time for tea.

It's like Christmas. I waited till Ailsa was asleep, then nipped out to the garage to unwrap my goodies

Excellent kit, and everything seems to fit. biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Unwrapping parts at 2:30 in the morning? Awesome! You'll be in fine shape for work tomorrow!
Congrats on the great day.... the cavity searches would have ruined the day for me but....to each their own!

I started unwrapping at midnight. Took me till 2.30 to figure out how it went together, lol.

And Glennda, I don't have that steering tie after all. I'll just fanny one up for the meantime to keep the wheels pointing in the same direction.

What, Dave's wife doesn't give him a hefty allowance for being a kept man?
You need to renegotiate the terms of your contract!
