This year marks our 5th "Remember When" Cruise through the streets of Brantford. The catalyst for this event started as some of our guys were reminiscing about how CRUISING used to be. We cruised between burger joints looking for girls and the odd "friendly competition between lights". Cruise nights now just have everyone sitting around waiting for the prize draws at the end of the evening. Five years ago we started to recreate the American Grafitti type of evening AND we have some cool prizes at the end of the night, most notably the customized beer fridges by Brantford's own Dan "Danno" Drouin. Check out the flyer and come on out for some real cruising.
Show off your car club colours and bring all your pals with old cars. There is NO CHARGE at all and you don't need to stay all night to qualify to win prizes, you just have to participate (details handed out at each location on the flyer the night of). There are also awards for best Club participation and Longest Distance.
Come early if you want to buy a cool event t-shirt. We only ordered 250 of them and they will go fast. Gotta be there to get one. Cheap too, I believe 15 bucks? Hmm, better check on that.

Okay, I was wrong. We had a meeting this evening. There are 120 shirts available at 15 bucks each. If you are a dash-plaque-chaser we have 225 available to participants when they first register. They were gone fast last year.
The event starts at 4:30 and we start with the prizes at the A&W at 9:30. Again, you don't have to be present to win but you have to do at least one trip around to all three locations to fill in your ballot card.
We've even invited the Steam Whistle folks to bring out some of their unique cars and trucks. They couldn't promise, but they are going to make an attempt. If you don't know what I'm referring to, go to steamwhistle.ca and check out their fleet. Great marketing! Great beer (unless you're a Bud-Light drinker, then you wouldn't know beer from gingerale. No offence.).
Come on out!

Chris, make sure that even if they can't bring some of their Steam Whistle fleet, they should still bring lots of sample beer to sample. If I can talk my son into going with me, I could sample all night and he could drive us home!

Thanks Mark. Got them to put the ELTA event in their gunsights as well. The rep is from London and knows about our Bash. Hopefully we'll have them at both events.

Got the 58 all shined up for Saturday's event. Need to spit polish the 68 Chevelle now. Got a buddy gonna cruise around in it for the night. Hoping to win one of the customised bar fridges...mine crapped-out just last week! Holding off buying one, cause, well, I have a chance at winning one too! (Sounds wrong but if one of our Club members wins the first fridge drawn, the rest of us in the Piston Pushers are ineligible for the second fridge. Makes it fair.)
Hoping for a good crowd...weather looks good from here...

Anyone going from Toronto that wouldn't mind a hitch hiker?? really would like to make it out but the truck still isn't on the road (closer by the day). If anyone could use the company please let me know. thanks
Great event. Tons of great rides. There had to be at least 300 + vehicles. A good time for sure. Darwin was there with camera in hand so pictures will follow for sure.
Sorry you didn't win a beer fridge Chris!

I guess I gotta fork over for a fridge. Oh well.
WHAT A GREAT NIGHT! On behalf of the guys that threw this together, and the Brantford Piston Pushers, THANKS to all that came out tonight. Slammed is right, there was at LEAST 300 cars/trucks cruising through town. What a fun time. Beats any "cruise" night hands down. So it costs a bit more in fuel, but it was so cool seeing rides of all description actually cruising. The sounds (like Slammed35's rackety rackety rackety...too cooool!) and the smell of burning fossil fuel and the odd bit of tire smoke.
Thanks again...and put it on your 2014 calendar for the Saturday of the Father's Day weekend. Peel out.

I agree! Great night! Like Darwin, I took quite a few pics myself and they're all cropped and edited waiting to be uploaded to the "Mother Site". Right now I gotta go to bed for an hour or two in case the forcast changes for the Lambeth swap meet - it's not looking good, RAIN!
I had a great time at the show tonight - My fourth out of five and looking forward to next year (don't know what I'll be driving at the next one)

I gotta agree that the smell of the gas burning was great!! Even my kids got it! The only thing that sucked ....was cruising in the mini van instead of a classic! I suck.. .The kids and Linda had a great time seeing the cars while we drove around to the different hot spots. My daughter has caught the "old car bug" now and I guess we'll have to start looking for a project for her soon......

Looks like it was a fab time in the Bell City....congrats to Jim Harris and all the other good Piston Pusher brothers that worked hard to create such a great evening..........well done.
Nice work on the photos Steve! Hope you made it home before the rain hit.
Thanks Chris! Yep, made it home easily before the rain - it didn't actually rain here until after dawn - just enough to screw up the swap meet for me ....dang it!!!
Glad you enjoyed the pics, be sure to tell the rest of the Piston Pushers (that aren't on here already) how to get to the 'Mother Site' to see them all (125 all together)!!!

Thanks Sasq., Mike and John! It was the biggest turn out I saw in the last 4 years of going(missed the first) and it sure seemed like everyone was having a great time. I know I did! I enjoyed taking the pics too - glad you all enjoyed them! I'm anxiously awaiting to see Darwin's "action" pics too as he was capturing everyone coming and going from stop to stop.
