Here is a 1946 Chev Pickup I started a few months ago.I built

the frame like a Factory Five Cobra,early 1954 331 Hemi with a T.K.O. 600 Tremec.

Ford 8.8 31 spline 3.55 gear out back.

Welcome from Trenton. Looking forward to seeing more of this build. Going to keep the stock height of the cab? Chop? Rat? build as you go or do you already have a finished look in mind?

Stock cab height,I am 6'2'' so it's kinda tight.I will build a 4' box for the rear and
will make fenders of some kind.I built my shop truck a 1951 International with
the flat black look so I think I will paint this one up real shiny .

Very nice !! I like the use of the modern suspension/transmission behind a vintage engine. Should go down the road nicely. A nice T/B fuel injection on top of that hemi would be icing on the cake. Less than a month before Syracuse so you had better get to work !!

Make sure any EFI system that you choose,  controls, and has programmable ignition timing. The EZ EFI version 1 does not,  the MSD Atomic EFI is questionable at best.

Without full ignition timing control,  EFI is a huge compromise.

We have had great success with the Holley systems.

I'm running the Holley Commander 950 T/B fuel injection. It controls both fuel and ignition. It's been on for over 6 years with almost no issues. This spring I had an O-ring leak at one of the injectors, but was no big deal to fix.

What area are you in?

I was going to try the Fast EFI that bolts onto a stock Holley flange.Lots of work
to do first.Headers to make, box etc.

I am located just north of Perth Ontario.Fast has just come out with
a new system that has timing control as well.Looks more like a carb.
I think I will break it in on a carb and then switch. It says you have to
have more than 9" of vacum for it to work. With the cam I am running
I think it will be close.

Got back to work on the truck in January.Making the nose,a little above my pay grade.

Made some shields for the exhaust.Looks a little homely but it fits the owner.

Fit the hood a little better.

Thanks, I sold the car to a local guy in 1997 and he still brings it to me almost every year for a little work.
Holding up pretty good considering it was the old red oxide primer and lacquer paint.

You did a job well-done upgrading and restoring this vehicle. Btw, are you running 30 inches rims and tires on this vehicle or it just looks big in this photo?

Have my truck listed on kijji.  What a bunch of wankers is that a word.

It is pretty sad that most people don't have a clue what their looking at. As long as the paint is shiny

and it has a big radio,it must be good.My senior rant for the day.

                              Thanks Larry
