Things are so bad there they have started using dash cams to record who's at fault but all you need to do is hang around bathurst and steeles and you can see it live!

 I just installed a dashcam a few weeks ago in my vehicle. So far the best thing I got on camera is a snapping turtle crossing the road.

Pilot/Flying J truckstops has them one sale this month. Think they are going for $100 US. Would be handy thing to have. Never know when it would come in hand, but when it does, it would be worth it. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, with one of these, you can hand the cops a novel!

I got mine right from China for $95 including shipping. It's supposed to be one of the better ones, and so far i'm impressed with how it works.

The best on the market are from BlackVue. So far they are one of the few that can survive the interior heat during a very hot day.

Now that I bought the wife a new DD, I'm seriously contemplating getting one for that car.

Over on RedFlagDeals.ca in the automotive section they have a running thread on dash cam videos majority from TO & GTA.

Here is the camera I bought;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/F500LHD-Version-V5-12-5-13T2L-GH-eye-fridently-Car-Video-Recorder-Full-HD-1080P-/310629031772?pt=US_Surveillance_Digital_Video_Recorders_Cards&hash=item4852eedf5c

I'm  using a 32g SD card, and it will record on 1080p for 8 hours. As it's taping, it will start a new file every 15 minutes and just keeps looping when the memory card is full just like a home/business video surveillance system. I bought it because it was highly rated. Here's a YouTube unbiased review on it. I'll try and post an actual video.

I have a GoPro. Cool thing about it is you can mount it outside anywhere on your car in any weather. I sometimes put it on the prowler fender and turn the wheels to pan the scene. Also I can turn it on or off from my iPhone and use the iPhone as a monitor to see what the camera sees.

 You must have the GoPro3 !! I bought the GoPro2 a couple years ago and it's an awesome camera. The problem with using it as a dashcam is that it won't loop the files when the card is full. I found the best place to mount it when in public places in on my shoe!! LOLbiggrinbiggrin

Cool!! I forgot that you can get the Wi-Fi for the GoPro2. I ended up buying the LCD display for it my Son could take stills. I have hours of footage when we go off-roading, but I lack the artistic talent to do anything with it.
