I have received my copies of this "special" edition publication.  WOW - 82 pages of great memories.

Check it out at the following Facebook link and order yours today. --  https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152843873780066&set=a.10150272386930066.548585.450463125065&type=1&theater

A great write up on the "Border Bandits" from Chatham Ontario.  They were such a drag racing force in the late 60's to the mid 70's.  Wonderful pictures.  Thank you Barrie Poole, John Elliot and Sandy Elliot.

Fifteen pages of "Photographic Memories" Cars from all across Canada.

A special feature on the "Street Sweeper" owned by our own Ontario Rodder member - Mark Rogerson.  Mark bought the 55 Chev in 1978 and 35 years later he is still having fun with it.  Well done Mark.

Canadian Hot Rods magazine is a great publication featuring our own Canadian cars.

Thank you Terry

I would love to get my hands on a copy or two, but I don't do Facebook. Is there an optional method for ordering one?

Volume 7, Issue 5, 2012. You can see a T roadster that I did a lot of work on. Tube frame, air bag suspension on the rear, etc. It did the show car circuit in the early '60's.
Greer was the first Canadian to win the Ridler. 1971.

No doubt Mike,

Mark's 55 has been overlooked for a long time. It's a great that it's finally getting recognized and it couldn't happen to a better guy.

I met Terry on the '07 Canadian Rodder tour west. He had driven east to Toronto from Nanimo, only to turn around and drive back to Victoria on the tour. That's the kind of dedication it takes to produce a magazine in this country and it only gets better every issue. Support him guys, it's a great magazine!!!

Wayne, you and Mike are right on the money with your comments on Mark's stunning '55! I couldn't agree more. I remember seeing the car in the early 80s before I knew Mark. The first time I actually talked to him, he was under the '55 unjamming the shifter linkage in the Copps/Timmies parking lot on Dundas East(likely early to mid 90s) - I was asking his feet if he needed a hand or tools, as I didn't live too far. He explained that he had done this repair a few times before and had it under control - he knows his car better than anyone - as it should be!!!

As for supporting the magazine, I'll be getting a couple copies!

I met him at the armdrop in Picton. He said he had some pictures of the delivery racing he was going to put the back section of the magazine and it would be in a few months.I bought them every month and looked for the picture on the back page with all te other little ones.Well when I opened the north south edition I couldn't belive what I saw There was a full width picture of me and Fatstax on the line ready to go.I must have said something because people in the store were looking at me stranger than they normally do .I could have done with out the other picture of the finish with me loosing that race but I guess fame is fleeting as they say. There was a nice mention of the Armdrop guys which I am sure they appriceated.I would also like to congratulate Terry for his efforts with the magazine and giving me a real thrill. Ed

Hey will, glad you liked the Border Bandit article. I had originally written it for my Junior Stock book but never completed it before the deadline. Just as well as it allowed me time to expand on the teams accomplishments and include additional photos and history. Ive got to say thanks to Terry for including the article in the collectors issue.

Doug

I often wondered what would have became of Barrie Poole if he hadn't been injured in that sno mobile accident, pretty sure he could have gone onto other things and did well .
The Poole/Elliot team had their act together, they ran strong, good reflexes, and ran very consistant.
And having "Sandy/Pops Elliot" as their backer was certainly a bonus also.

I got my copies of the killer nostalgic issue today at Chapters on Wellington in London Town. They still have... or had earlier today, 6 or 7 copies. If you're Jonesin' for your own copy to cherish, better get 'em quick as I received a report that there were 25 issues on Sunday and now only a few days later, a handful.
