Peterborough Speedway Flea Market

Here's an opportunity to buy and sell some car parts this Saturday at Peterborough Speedway. You can set up a vendor's space to sell your parts and in return the Speedway will give you 2 free tickets to watch the Stock car show that evening. This is the first time they have offered this deal and hopefully it will be a success.

Also coming up is an Oscaar Super Late Model and Open wheel Modified show at Kawartha Speedway on Aug 11th, 2013. This will be combined with a cruise night and anyone bringing a Hot Rod, Classic Car, etc. will be getting a special deal on entry to the race. I'll have more details as they become available. The Brighton Speedway Dirt Late Models will also be out to race on the asphalt track.

sounds good but only an hour and a half setup time?  would be better if it was an all day event.

Admission price is great, and free booth space, can't beat that.

Anyone who hasn't seen those "Oscaar Super late models" and the "Open wheel modifieds"

will be IMPRESSED with the speed and driving abilities of these guys.

At Barrie last weekend those guys were going around the 1/3 mile oval in 13 SECONDS!!

THOSE GUYS "ROCK"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a great idea, may load up the trunk and head there.

I assume its outdoor space but how do u fit yr vehicle in a 10 x 10 space too? Or will we have to move vehicle elsewhere?

It is true that the oval at Mosport is closing, and it will not be replaced by a drag strip....the space will be used for additional driver development track space.

It's a business and they will continue to invest in things that earn them revenue. I'm disappointed to hear it is closing, but on the other hand I am one of those people who live very close and rarely went..maybe once every other year...so how could I complain?

A drag strip would be great...but I don't think it will ever happen there.

The Peterbourgh Speedway swap sounds like a good idea, I was there a couple weeks ago and had a great time (yup, I ten times further than Mosport to another oval track...but I knew a couple of the drivers racing there).

I sent a message to get more information and I will post it as soon as I can which might be later this evening.

Anyone hear about the Mossport 1/2 mile stock car oval closing??? Heard someone say that at a local cruise in.Lack of fans ?? Cost?? or track reno's taking over the land??? There was 'talk' years ago about putting in a drag strip but think the neighbours would put the "ky Bosh" on that!!!!!

The swap meet at Peterborough Speedway will be held behind the grandstand area and you will have to bring a table or suitable method of displaying your valuable merchandise. No cars will be allowed in this area.

This is the first swap meet for the track so it could be interesting to see how it does.

If anyone needs further information on the Peterborough swap meet, contact jp@peterboroughspeedway.com

My personal opinion only.

Yup, They finally drove the last nail in the coffin. A couple of years ago, they fired the race promoter and hired a new rookie promoter who very quickly destroyed the program that was there. Personally I think it was a planned move to make the oval fail as the track manager was never a fan of the oval and the organization refused to spend any money to upgrade and improve the facility. It's a shame they screwed over the few remaining racers that they have by suddenly ending the season at the end of July leaving them and their sponsors high and dry.
