Dave, make sure you spot one of us wearing our ELTA "T"'s OK that way we'll know who you are if we don't hear the Scottish accent
I'm guessing there won't be many other dudes there in kilts, but you never know! Make sure you introduce yourself to us Dave. Look forward to finally meeting you.
Chris

Well, the home theater is playing "American Grafitti" right now and I'm hoping you guys can bring some good dvd's with you.. A lot of the guests have RSVP'd, some will not be with us this year...no..NO…. they won't be attending!!! due to unforseen or forgotten commitments...you all know how that happens. For those in need, there will be a wheelchair accessible crapper on site...if you can't dodge behind some plant life. The turnout looks to be escalating to record numbers and we will be ready for the onslaught. We won’t be cooking this year…Sniff…Sniff, (What… I’m happy) but there will be a couple of great food trucks on site to satisfy your hunger. Please remember some of the parking spaces will be reserved for some special (long distance) guests...please don't whine...OK? This is not the party or place that listens to whining. We want everybody who has taken the time, expense, trouble ( hey that was my first dog's name) and effort, to come down and share your witt, wisdom, stories, and cars with us to have a great time and enjoy the brotherhood. All the ELTA brothers know it really isn't the cars that bring us together, it's the people that touch our lives for whatever reason. Some touch in different ways, some are right in your face until you say "UNCLE", but they touch us none-the-less.
ONLY RULE OVER THE DOOR "NO GOOFS"...look out for us and we'll have your back OK???
Dave a kilt for sure!!!

PMSL, I'm sooo tempted to actually wear my kilt this time
Wear the Kilt Dave......being of Scotch blood myself, I know the ladies would love it........we can get you to do a little sword dance for those biker gals....the Iron Sirens MC who brought out 25 of their 70+ members on bikes last year.......if the word leaks out that a son of the highland will be performing a wee little table dance for them they'll turn out in force.......I.....it be bloody awesome.
Grumper
in a word.....No! on both counts! You've already said you were coming that's all that's needed. We've given that spot to someone else, so you're on your own just like the rest of us. Parking in front of and inside the shop has been planned and will be coned off.
Frank, parking for DD's is on the side streets and some of the business parking lots(after 5:00PM) along Nightingale and McCormick Blvd. as well as Eleanor St. across from the front of the building
Yes I remember Don who took two days to catch us and another day to fix his rear spring.
Yes I always wonder how my burgers had a different taste than Barbs and you always said that this is your burger.
Talked to Grant and he is coming also,he missed it last year but said not this year.He has to meet the ELTA goofs!!!!!!!!!
Just a little warning I will be there taking pics in my Shorts not taking pics in my Shorts just taking pics wearing Shorts see you guys there Mark.
Hey Mark....great to hear you'll be back for the fun on Sat night......looking forward to seeing who has the better knees......you in your shorts or Dave Scott in his kilt....lol.
Chukie, you're more than welcome to be our honorary "GOOF", NOBODY could take your place. They call that the AGRI-PLEX. And that last post of mine was kinda of an inside joke

Sure wish he would wear nylons...those legs just don't do it for me..nylons or some tats may help..but I doubt it..maybe long pants..lookin like they may have to block off Dundas from Egerton to Highbury for this one..May have to move this the progress building for the next one..

I guess I am so out of the loop and in the boonies I have never progressed, What do they call the new building where they hold the auto show now.. Looks like the weather is going to be nice..

We'll have to do a better job of keeping it a secret........thinking back on the first party...2005.....35 cars and about 50 folks and even then it was a hoot.......I guess good news travels fast...lol.
Here we go guys!!!
we've been busting our butts at the ELTA cleaning, setting up, and adding EVEN MORE Fung Shuie, as Mark calls it, just for your enjoyment. So come down and have a great time TODAY, late afternoon. The bands will probably fire up about 6:30/7:00.
The GOOD TIMES start when you get here.
You guys having so much fun, you can't find the time to update us poor saps that couldn't make it?
Sorry Gazoo, it's 1:30 and I just walked in the door. After last year's Bash and the season ending BBQ, I didn't think it could be topped! But this year was the best yet!!!The entire ELTA gang outdid themselves once again!!!!
Pics aren't even downloaded from the camera yet, let alone edited and uploaded .... but I've got a feeling there might be some good ones in there! STAY TUNED!

this one is in the books and for the books....we guesstimate 450 cars and quite possibly 1200-1500 people. Up to this year we never parked cars further away than the tracks about 2/3 of the way up Nightingale. We went past the top of the street and around the both corners.
The bands were just great and the folks that came out were just superb!!! There were 4 professional photogs shooting and I know there were a bunch of the usual suspects with their cameras. I saw Fordyacres shootin all over the place but shhhh he's napping which os just what I'm goning to do right now. Say night night

An unbelievable event. It's a street party focusing on vintage and current drag cars, hot rods, Kustoms, anything automotive, great bands and great people of all types. If your into sitting in a lawnchair,in a field ,listing to 50's music while trying to figure out where to put your 'crying doll' this probably isn't for you. No trophys, dash plaques or ego's. The best event I've been to since last years event .Thanks to Mark,Wayne, Mike, the Hartmans, and the rest of the ELta.Hope to see you next year.
I was looking for the kilt. I did meet Miserable old B@$#%#d or Grumpy I mean, and now I know why his car is so short. I actually met a lot faces of the forum, everyone introduces themselves by their handle, some I never did catch their real names, but it was a great time. Maybe I'll see the Kilt at the next show!

Have to agree with Dubya31 on this one!!! If you look up "Hot Rod Kingdom" in the dictionary, you will find a picture of the E.L.T.A. guys and their cars!! I have been to a lot of NSRA and Goodguys events over the years, but I wouldn't trade one of them for the ELTA Bash. You guys treated Dubya31 and I like we had the only cars on the planet, you will never know how much we appreciated your efforts.
Some of the cars that showed up were just amazing, the gasser types, the old super stockers, real hot rods, funny cars, on and on. Just to be a part of it was an honour! I can't go to any more car shows, they just won't match up to the ELTA Bash!
Thank you for a great time!!
I gotta admit, we put on a hell of a good time. Once we got Grumpysbodyworks headlight back on, his fillings back in, and his Kleenex box refilled, I think even he had a good time. Truly though, Glenn, it was too cool having you in the rearview all the way to London with Chris' Invader, BAJ's 34 Chev, Brian's hot rod Falcon wagon and Slammed35's nasty 35 in tow. I wish I met more of the OntRodders personally but man it was busy.
The word's out...the ELTA is THE place to be.
Thanks to all for coming out and making it one hell of a hot rod hootenanny!

Thanks to the ELTA boys from the guys in our truck club. Our assorted bag had the custom 33 Merc pickup, 56 Merc pickup, my blue 65 Ford truck, the red Model A hiboy sedan and the burgundy 64 Galaxy on bags. Next year will have many more back in London.
Highlight for us was all the cars firing up together. What a rush!
