Yep after over 15 + yrs I finally get to install a 4 sp OD tranny in my '46 1 ton. Its the MY6 option that was available on '81-86' chevy trucks...the A833 tranny.

Trucks  on the hoist ( its 11 pm sat night) and the saggy 4 sp gets shelved tomorrow (July1) !

does that truck have a one ton rear axle and a half ton front end?

It is a1973   P series truck with the 14 bolt rear and 3/4 T independent front end. Chassis was a coffee truck in a past life.

I am waiting for afriend to bring me a lakewood bellhousing up with him this coming week. Then I will have the correct size hole for the bearing retainer and will have to drill 2 holes in the bellhousing then tap for the mounting bolts.

well the used lakewood bell housing arrived this week so the flywheel is out getting regrounded and I'll be installing everything this weekend.
