The guys that have made the trek to Bonneville will know.  This is for the guys that have had Bonneville on their bucket list. This place is so expansive and soooooo quite it's almost unearthly. The brightest lights are the town of Wendover.  The lesser lights are the fuel station/restaurant at the entarnce to the flats and headlights coming down the highway

Enjoy  http://www.utah3d.net/utah-travel/bonneville-salt-flats/salt-flats-night.html#.UdrpQQzAcrk.skyrock

That's a cool shot Wayne! I've got an ap on my phone that can do this too, but it's not as flawless as this one - pretty slick!

25 years ago, who would have thought this would be possible today ?

I look at Bonneville like this...if hot rodding is a religion...then Bonneville is the shrine! Candy-man it really is a life changing experience. Bonneville lets you know just how insignificant you are in the greater scheme of things. In '08 Jaime and I couldn't sleep inside so we went outside of the trailer. Laying there looking up is even better than the technology in my earlier post.

I would so love to go, and now that I'm on the same continent, it could become a reality.

I need to build my rod first, but having a goal would be a great incentive

Yep, everyone is so consumed with Bonneville around my area, I will be driving to Bonneville by myself, listening to SRV and Brian Setzer, meeting our Texas Crew on the Salt..... I will be following Gary Weldon, Worlds fastest Nailhead, from the Guelph area.......

I agree with those who have been there. Bonneville is sureal and as close to a religeous experiance as I'll ever have. It really can't be explained.Been there twice, The first time in 2002 with Gary Weldon and the worlds fastest nailhead and Candyman if your following Gary hang on because it's going to be a effort to keep up. Good luck out there.

We're getting close to a convoy boys. Rochie, Shaggin, Fast Elvis, Slammed35 and me. Mr T can we bring you along too? A good chunk of the E.L.T.A. as well as a slice of the Piston Pushers...good company indeed!

Lets go!

And Candy Man, I'm with ya with SRV and Brian Setzer helpin to motivate the loud pedal on the trip...great stuff...throw some Jimmy Vaughan in there too for good measure.

A bit of Rev. Horton Heat too!

I really would be on board. Problem is I need to plan at least 10 months ahead so i don't plant any wheat (yes, i'm a farmer, among other things) Winter wheat is planted in early Oct. and harvested usually around Speed Week time.

I'm all over it, did I mention that? Need to prep the coupe for an extended highway cruise as well. Hood, Fenders, a way bigger fuel tank and a more economical fuel system, tunes and a real exhaust system. But yup, I'm in. For me it would be the journey and the destination. Big trip for sure.

First meeting can be at my place!
