The 70's?? We did that stuff in the 50's and 60's. Lol
Had a 53 chevy beater i drove up a railway spur line (on the rails, on 4 bare rims) late one sunday night. --Then had to back all the way back to the crossing, then had to jack it up to get the rims off and tires back on. (Rims were not in good condition after that!!) Lol
When I was fourteen, my buddy and I bought a couple of cars. His was a 73 Bug and I had a 'year unknown' Datsun B210.
We used to drive around an old farm, race and demo derby. No helmets, no seatbelts and not too many brains. Man, we beat those cars to death.
Yeah, the good old days.
How about "shagging"? No, not the Austin Powers shagging...that came later!
On our way home from school in the winter one person would walk near the curb and slow car/trucks down enough so the rest of us could run behind the car and grab the bumper for a ride. Good times!

I had a Pinto used to run the logging roads North of Lake Superior. LOOONNNNGGG before "Drifting" became an Autosport. Before that I bought and scrapped a 64 Impala convertible paid $11 for it. I needed the battery. That was in London about 1974.
Before I go any farther grab a crying towel now.
Ready and steady?
My buddy used to "Dirt Track" in the back 40 in a couple of 40/41 Willys coupes. He paid $15 each for them, then away they went to the scrap yard. He chuckles AND shakes his head at the same time. Them's the days that "Nostalgia" was that funny looking lamp with the stained glass, flat sides and the frilly strings hanging from it at your great Aunt's house. if we only new.
t's okay to continue to scrap them rice cars.

or super slider snow skates ????there was a egg farm across a 50 acre corn field , from our house . it had one low roofed barn that was built pointing north south .. the eaves were like 4 ft offa the ground . when we got enuff snow , we climb up the west facing bare side of the tin roof , and go down the snow covered east side on crazy carpets , tobaggons , the fore mentioned snow skates , cardboard boxes what ever we could get , down the east side of roof an out across the corn field .
At skool in gym class when I was getting changed into my t shirt an shorts , some skool fool noticed all the bruises on my body frt an back . called skool board , called my Mom . they all thought she was beating me or something , but it was just from the frozen corn stalks sticking up outta the snow , and I had wiped out an rolled for like ten , maybe 12 rows of the stuff . ha ha ..good times .. good times ..77.
