Had it rebuilt....5000 miles ago......runs good...full manual....but

Every now and then...not all the time...when I back out of the garage...it pukes tranny fluid while in reverse WTF?

I find a puddle  under the car when parked every now and then ...sometimes a few drops...sometimes a lake

Any tranny guys out there?

Hey grumps good to see you here again I thought maybe you got lost way out there in the booniesbiggrin  It could be a pressure plug on the side of the tranny, but I would have someone you trust put it in reverse while you have a look for the leak. I had one come into my shop with the same thing so I was going to whip it out and have a look but with the crossmember out the trans still won't drop down turns out he had just had a phone installed and they mounted it to the floor, you guessed it drilled self tapping screws right through the floor and into the tranny not once but about three times. We had a good laugh over that.

I did the same thing about 30 years ago.....

Got a new sun tach and mounted it on the tranny hump ...every time i reved the engine the tach would rock on the floor.

I thought...wow have I got power!...A few days later the carpet started to bleed...I went to a buddies and he said....

"you pinhead...you drilled right through the tranny housing"....and I did. Big lesson...dont mount tach on floor

Still laff about that one too.....

Untill I get my hoist back up....I'll have to wait on checking it

My guess would be your cooler is bleeding back to the sump when you let it sit for a spell . when you start it it blows out the vent tube because its over full. check the fluid level before you start it . Should be the same as when you shut it off.

sounds like when you are in reverse the engine is rocking in the opposite direction that it normally would while in drive, moving a trans line exposing a leak
