Hey all!!!!!! Hoping someone can help me out abit......  I am searching for a very specific 48 chev coupe. This a car my dad built in the mid 70s, unfortunately he passed in 1983. The car was then sold (as I was only about 12 years old) to guy in Courtice . I have been in touch with him and he said he sold the car around 1987-88., I saw the car around that time but I was too young to buy it back!!! At the time of sale it was in Bowmanville on hwy 57 and it was painted red with a black vinyl top. I have done a search at the ministry of transport and found out that the car has never changed ownership since 1983!!!!! It was very unique in the sense that it a 4 inch chop and a full fibreglass tilt front end (hand made by my dad and Gary Brown). My dad also preferred the 47 grill over the 48 so that was put in instead.....So Im not sure if this car is tucked away in a barn or re-vinned or written off or what has become of it..... Any info would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!! I am including a couple of pics from the 70s, hope someone out there knows something!!! Thanks in advance, Steve Hurrie136.JPG138.JPG

Steve,I don't know anything about the whareabouts of the car now but something about it was familiar .I got out an old photo album of pictures I had taken back in the early 80s at various rod runs back then.I found a picture of your dads car at a run.I can't place the show exactly but I think it was the Canats in Toronto or the Street scene in Petrborough in 80 or 82.The licence # is the same as the picture in your post so not much help there but if you want to PM me I would be happy to mail you the picture. Ed

For you young guys--- Photo-an exposed image of something taken buy a camera from a film
--- Film---Taken out of the camera to the photomat or drug store-waite 3days pickup and view images
--- Photo album--a collection of immages printed on paper that are placed on pages of a book and then
covered with a clear plastic sheet for viewing. ED

i don't know what year it is but it is similar to the one you are looking for. i was on my way to the track, shannonville, on saturday to watch the young lad and a couple of his friends race their bike's for test n tune night. it was on hwy 2 just west of shannonville. it's been there awhile cause this is the 2nd time i have seen it. being an old car and a slant back i give them a look. next time i will investigate better, you never know.
-
the kid and another bud were running high 10's-low 11's at 128 to 132 mph consistently on street bikes they rode down from peterborough. it's crazy. take it for a run dad, nope, no-way in hell. i will stick to my decker thank you. when i say lads they are in their early 40's. where'd that go lol

-
anyway i will check the car out next time by. you never know.
