I put one on my car years ago, but never liked the feel of it. The main issue I'm having is I get a lot of feedback to my steering wheel when I hit fairly large bumps only on one wheel. I'm blaming this ona rather small KPI, thus giving me a large scrub radius (4-5 inches).
Anyone else have this problem? Other than that, the front end feels perfect.
No Dan, not that problem but other types of problems with a TCI frame. Headed out west in '10, a 32 roadster pulled the front shock mount right out of the the frame on a new TCI frame...it didn't break the mount just pulled right out of the side of the frame. And on the same trip a friend gets home and calls me and says "should my seat move when I go up a driveway on an angle", yep broke a frame cross member on a new TCI frame
Dan, Going to guess you used a MII front suspension with R&P. Did you install either a rag joint or insulated/anti-vibration joint between the rack and steering shaft, if not you'll feel every bump coming right up the steering column.
I used one of their "custom" front end. I have rear steer rack and pinion. I spent 12 hours today aligning everything up. I didn'trealize I had tons of bump steer, and that was the majority of the problem. I got it down to about .020" in the first inch of travel, and the car seems a lot happier. I had to machine the mounting tab on the rack (Dodge Omni) to be able to tune it in . I even found time today to replace a collector gasket that's been leaking for 6 months. Need a place to go cruising now !!
