We are fortunate to have a 5 month old Miniature Schnauzer named Crissy. Today, Crissy decided she needed to be up on the kitchen table, for what reason we don't know, nor do we know how she got there. She is only about 12" at the shoulder, so we assume she jumped onto the chair and then onto the table. Somehow she slipped or fell off the table. Crissy screamed with pain [or fright] for a few minutes, and then walked on 3 legs for a couple of hours [us hoping that she would soon start walking back on all four]. After x-rays at the Vet, it was discovered that she had broken a bone in her right rear leg. Tomorrow she will have surgery to insert Titanium pins to reconnect the bone so she can continue to walk properly.
The message here is that puppies' bones are not as flexible and soft as we might think they are, so please watch what your dogs climb onto, don't let them learn the hard way about that sudden stop at the bottom.
the numerous beatings i give my dog each day have toughened her up. actually my buddy learned an expensive lesson about how much it can cost to fix ur broken dog, he shooed her off a table and the way the dog fell, snap broken leg. well 1600 dollars later he now has a rather expensive mutt.

that's disgusting shoot the hound and get another for free what was he thinking?
Hi Bruce; Sorry to hear about Crissy. I know Linda will be upset, as you are too. I hope the surgery goes well and she's back terrorizing you soon. We enjoyed our weekend together, and will see you guys again soon. Harley and Nelly say get well soon Crissy.
Thank you all for your best wishes and your pictures, they were all very appreciated!! Not only did they pin her leg, but they also spayed her, as well as micro-chipped her, and removed a couple of baby teeth which were in the way of her permanent teeth coming in. We went down to the Vet's office to see her tonight, she is doing great, but will remain there on an I.V. overnight.
Sherwood, we thoroughly enjoyed spending the weekend you and Mary Ann as well! I know Linda really had fun with Mary Ann looking at the cars at the ELTA Bash, I think they have a lot in common. I really appreciated the time I got to spend with you, I think we are very much alike in a lot of ways, you are just a lot smarter! You still owe me a ride in that beautiful hot rod of yours, after all, you let me drive you around in my '28! You did a tremendous job on your '31 considering you did 95% of the work yourself including all the metal fabrication. Let's try to get together sooner than later.
