Reproduction is never the same  quality wise or the exact look.

Reproduction is not an option ,only a very last option.

I've bought a set of wheel vintiques artillery rims. I'd say quality is good, but the look is not exact, you can't just buy one and mix it with the originals. Price wise, I got the chrome ones with Goodrich tires, balanced and taxes for $1,000., all brand new.

They look awesome. I cant mix and match and don't really want to buy five.

I have the original spoke wheels which I plan on using as well. Until I find 1-2 more of the artillery

rims ,the spokes will do.

Lot of posts on other forms about  wheel vintiques having a problem putting the hub in the center of the rim and of coarse its up to you to check them before mounting the tires . Wont take them back afterwords even if they did shipping would kill it. as far as i know original center cap wont fit without an adapter . I had 4 original 36 Chev rims set to come from BC but the seller has seemed to disappear so your not the only one looking. smile

Slim, most if not all aftermarket rims are not "Hub centric", they are "Lug centric". Their would be way to many different hub dia's and bolt patterns and wheel offsets to manufacture. The hub centers are clearance dia.'s, so they fit numerous makes.

And yes the original caps typically need adapters also, kinda for the same reasons, to many variations between cars and trucks and auto manufacturers, etc...

Really dont matter if you center from the hub or the lug if the center is offset its eccentric and the only fix is to cut it out and make it accentric. I was going to buy A set until I did a search and figured its just easyer to find originals that I can fix then to buy new and quite possible have to fix anyway.

It just dawned on me, I think I know where there might be a couple. I'm not sure, so I'll have to make some calls, but I'm convinced I saw some artillery rims, no idea what dia. or bolt pattern.

You said Chevy, is there a distinguishable difference, between a Ford or Dodge, that I need to look for?

Don't know the difference's myself , probably depend on someone telling me they are for chev

15 inch 6 bolt  and I would take the chance if priced right, knowing they are for chev I would be prepared to barter

Let me know how you make out thanks joe mac

Contact canucktruck on here, pretty sure he has a set or two floating around.  I was looking for a set when I was building mine and he had them.  Was a few years ago, but they might still be sitting in the same spot.
