Mmmmmm...Chrome is good but where does the wood go,behind the dash on the back of the firewall? Will it be seen & whats it's purpose?Looking forward to seeing the car when painted.
Candy-Man As a fellow Deuce 5 window owner I've always been interested in yours and Jeffs. Mines doing fine. When I changed intake manifolds on the hemi I had to rework the throttle linkage. I wasn't happy with my first attempt but a couple of weeks ago I think I solved it. Had it out a few times and plan to a few more before bad weather. To many other projects. Looking forward to seeing Jeff's painted.
Thanks Sasquatch......
the whole deal with the huffer was running the W/P and Generator brackets.....
I simply did not want a SBC W/P on this engine..I have one on my Truck(392/32 ford) and it works great..
But on small dodges.... you need to machine the cam snout, have SBC W/P adapters the pump itself and a new timing cover..... over 1100 bucks.
I am really glad Candyman came up with some clever ideas to run the stock pump in conjunction with the Blower belts.
A tight fit, but it will work well.
I am forced to run a Electric fan.....but I can live with that.....I can bury it against the rad.
A big shout out to ace rad IN London.... Jim the Kid did my Rad and it is killer. If you need Rad work at reasonable cost...look them up.
Hey Jeff,
that Candyman fella has got some serious talent, Bud. It's kinda nice to see v belts on an old blown motor. I'm itchin' to see the deuce in paint. What colour did you settle on??? Or is that top secret?
Hey Jeff; I was over at Candy's on Monday checking out my A. While I was there, I had a close look at the deuce body, man, is that thing beautiful. Neil's work is just the best. The hemi has come together perfectly. He was making the brackets and installing the pop-off. Wish I could have fit a 71 series blower on mine but by the time I decided on a blower, only the 53 series would work. What actually makes Candy's what it is, is that Neil constantly thinks outside the box, not outrageous but beautiful solutions. I started with Hitman and am happy that I did but for the fine finishing details, based on what I've seen in his previous work and what's going on in the shop, I couldn't have gone to a better place. We should both be finished about the same time. Maybe we can 'cruise the Dub'. By the way, that '57 will be awesome. Always loved the 406. I'll be stating my inline 235 powered '32 Bantam coupe altered as soon as the dust settles around the A.
Hey Warren! Sounds like you are happy with my recommendation to take your A over to Candy's to have the wiring done. Glad it worked out for you! Sure is a lot closer than coming all the way up to Stroud!

Funny you should mention that Rochie,... In the very beginning..(with the huffer) I really wanted V-Belt drive.. instead of the Gilmore..... but.....it's very spend. yes. super old school. but Gilmore belts came out in 58...
Bobby Walden has a front drive set up for old time v-drive belts... but $3500 was more than the entire blower itself! That was out of the question .Gilmores don't slip like a 4 v-belt drive set up either.... and much easier on the crank snout.

Hey Jeff! It has been almost 20 years since I first met you and your black & white dog [sorry, I can't remember his name], I have been in awe of you and your talent ever since. Not just for your artistic abilities, but you as a person! You name the time and the place, I will be there!
Pop-Off valve has been welded to the intake, generator bracket has been completed ready for the chrome shop and Jr breathers installed on the valave covers. Ummmm, a little gas and oil ???/
Hey Jeff, Was over at Neil's just before I left for the south. The painted pieces were there and WOW!. The colour couldn't be more perfect. I'll be back in a week and am anxious to see where Neil has taken mine. What I see so far is pure genius. He is fabbing pop off valves for my intake and if the come anywhere near a nice as your's, I will be one happy camper.
Warren
