Don't you love when people drop off projects that are clean!   I'd have to try real hard to get dirty working on this one. Has to be the cleanest G-body ever. Virginia car, 29k miles.

I feel a little warm in the loin's to get to wire and fire this bad boy.  shhhwing!!!!!biggrin

I'll think about putting exhaust on it after it's runningwink

why mess up a perfectly clean car with a chevy engine

I guess chevy cars are way to over price to use to build ????

Wow, will be a real treat working on that. No getting elbows covered in grease, rust falling in your eyes, etc. that thing is mint.  Still would look good with a nice little Holley though. biggrinbiggrin

Very nice car/ setup. When do we get the walk around video with loud sound track?

I'd have to say I don't see a carb under there, some sort of FI system? Need more pic's.

Hey Hemi, always down on the q'jets. Take a look at some of the hard running stockers and SS stockers and see what a Q'jet can do. Our home built Q' on our 69 H/SA Nova ran low 12's. Have a good day all.

Ok..Ok...Ok... I'm not usually one to bow to peer pressure, but in order to keep the peace here I'll alter my ways and incorporate a ca...cough,  car...cough,...carb...burp, into the build . Seeing that the car has no drive shaft it will come in as handy as a block of wood.biggrin

very-very nice car. i don't know much about the turbo stuff to comment. i have seen some huge numbers though at westech over the years. last time there they had a rice rocket strapped on the chassis dyno putting up into the 900 range. it was odd watching the front wheels putting it out.
.
i know the national came turbo but did they have 2 of them. interesting. again-nice car.

You might like to know, (or probably it will go in one ear and out the other,) The Quadrajet carb is not a poor performing carb.

Any serious motor head into performance knows that Jenkins done extensive testing on these carbs, and they ended being a favourite of his.
To Quote him" he said , the quadrojet carb once understood will flow more air than the same size Holley, and for street applications are perfect.

Holley is a great carb, Just that people go with what others hear, instead doing a bit of in depth research.

You might like to know, (or probably it will go in one ear and out the other) but the reason I posted "NOT" on my previous post is because it's quite obvious that the engine is fuel injected, and NOT carbureted !!

Here's something I'd like to know !! For someone that keeps breaking my balls in here, and is the #2 in posts, why don't you show us some pictures of your car?? This is a forum about Hot Rods and not drag racing. I would love to see what you're working on. BTW, pictures of restored bench grinders doesn't count.

Hey Hey Hey! When your done with that block of wood id be more than happy to help you get rid of it wink Seriously, I know people who have destroyed their cars using motors that ran quadra jets. Oh and they managed to drive the car around everyday.. Hell I may even be running one/looking for a few ``parts`` carbs if anyone has more ``tire blocks`` kickin around smile

Well the guy happened to have a small block stroker in a chevy II too much torque for a unibody car... ended up with some nice kinks in the quarter panels. Wouldn't sit level after that. Im sure he could have put any large carb on it and done the same, but the Q-jet gave him the fuel economy of driving it everywhere until that. I will however say it was tuned properly (the biggest problem is ****ty set ups) so that helps if your willing to take the time

And you are blaming that episode on a Q Jet?????????????? Lol

If the guy had installed some Frame Connectors in it and strengthed it up that would have handled that engine.

(That GM torque is brutal to control!!) Lol

Tell me something Hemi43......Who promoted you to say this is a hotrod site and NOT a drag racing site..and as for posting **** other than mentioned you yourself are guilty of doing it.....a little hypocritical aren't you?  As for trying to belittle someone on here by saying or insinuating they have nothing to build...pretty childish, and snobbish don't you think. So, you continue doing what you do, sitting in your lawn chair at your little car shows belittling the non shiny or less dollar car owners, but please keep your arrogance out of here.

Can you give us some engine specs? I have a 404ci Twin turbo build that is a bit milder than the one you got there since it going to see a ton of street time on pump gas. I am hoping for 750 at the wheels on pump gas once I get it all figured out.

.

This car sees lots of street time. It is amazingly tame to drive. 'till you command it to create hell.

It is 400ci. Dart Little M block,8.5:1, AFR 210cc CNC ported heads, custom cam, 238/236 @.50 603" lift 115LSA . Twin 60mm turbos, 90mm throttle body, 95lb injectors, undersized(imo) intercooler.confuse

FAST intelligent XFI 2.0 .

This dyno session was done with street, emissions legal exhaust in place. 3" Magnaflow metal core cats, 3" pipe all the way out, Magnaflow mufflers. 94octane pump gas, methanol injection.  The 40mm TIAL  wastegate springs are rated at .7bar which is about 10.25psi. This what the car has been running since last fall. It actually gave 12-13 psi of boost.  That boost level,12psi, made 760 rwhp. That is the way it is driven around regularly.

This video was the second pull with the boost controller adding 10psi, so 22psi total. but still through the full exhaust on pump gas. Only the boost level raised. This will be the track set-up for a while, 'til he wants to go faster, or gets kicked out.no

Now he just has to work on getting the car to hook and go down the track. Hopefully Ed just spins at Picton and gives this Buick a chance.wink

Nice! I am using a stock block, but with a half fill, and splayed billet caps. Sonic checked it and it averages .230 wall thickness in the cylinders - they didn't spare the iron on this one. Scat forged rotating assembly, Diamond Pistons (8.3:1), Ported Dart IE 200's, Converted to FI tunnel ram, Meth injection, 24"x30"x3" custom air-air intercooler (biggest that would fit the car I was building this for), 96 lb/hr low impedance injectors, 2xGT35 turbos, 2x38mm wastegates, and a 50mm bov. I am going to try a set of the cast iron STR manifolds. I have had issues with stainless headers cracking in the past and got these manifolds for roughly what the thickwall stainless tube alone would have cost, and I still would have had to make them. They even clear everything. They need porting pad, but are nice and thick and fit well.

I still need to figure out the cam and engine controls.

Sounds like a good plan. Keep us posted on your build. If I can lend a hand, I'm in. If you want the name of the tuner that did this Regal when the time comes, let me know.

Make sure the ECU you choose uses a wideband O2 full time. This was the first FAST XFI system I dealt with, and I like it. Not the cheap route, but nice and user friendly. There is probably less than an hour tuning on the Regal.

I can tune it myself if needed. I was thinking of trying the Megasquirt just because we have used it before on a couple of cars and it has worked really well. I will need a 3 bar MAP sensor, and it does support both low impedance injectors and a WB 02.
