My better half was talking about some Yodeler (Country & Western Singer named Dallas Smith) coming to the Port Perry Fair for a free concert next Sunday Sept.1st. (Free with your admission prove of $10).

More importantly there's a Car Show as well that starts at noon on Saturday. I had this confirmed when the wifey called about the admission proce for the concert.

I dont remember this car show being advertised....Port Perry guys/gals where are you.....whats up?????

Thats typical for Port Perry, I heard they had the show last yr. but didn't advertise it then!! then wondered why not many showed up!!! Same again this yr. I may go, seeing as it's just down the road!!! Have to P/up the "lady friend" at Oshawa GO station Sat. morning "sometime"!!! Pete

When we started the Port Hope fall fair car show over 30 yrs ago the fair board didn't take us seriousely either.Our club worked hard to get that show running and for the first few years they didn't even list the show in there fair guide.After awhile when they found how successful it was they finally came around and actually started to sponser a little.When the clup stopped running it the fairboard took over for awhile to keep it going .It is still going today with various groups having run the show over the last few years.Its very tedious trying to run an event like this and sometimes takes awhile for everyone to get onboard and realize what an asset the show can be to attendence at a local fair. Ed
