I'm looking for a dodge 833 overdrive transmission, preferably with small block bellhousing and shifter.

Thanks

Glen

I think it was Scruffe that told me that GM used the New Process 833 in some of their trucks, and that they had O/D.

I got mine out of a 86 chevy 1/2 ton. It has a special bell housing that has the Dodge trans mounting bolt pattern . The shifters were made by hurst

The chevy version is not the same as the dodge. Input and output shafts are different. This is to go behind a dodge smallblock. I do have a nv3500 5 speed but it has no speedo sensor so would need a gps speedo. I sold my nv3500 with speedo couple years ago.

I would like a whole setup because the OD trans has its own bellhousing. There is a 318 with 833 on kijiji but its priced to high and a bit of a drive. I'm in no hurry so I can wait till something comes up.

Sorry I forgot about the shafts being different.

I did manage to find a good deal on mine. $200. for everything from flywheel to transfer case, pedals and hydraulics.

Hopefully you find one at a decent price smile

The 5 speed would  be the better choise. spend 200 to 400 on a gps speedo and you dont have to think about tire size correction  miles/ km . plug and play .
