I am not really interested in how fast I went or what time I had.I am not going to have the money for that, all I care about is that I beat the other guy 1/4,1/8,stoplight to stoplight. What time, how fast who cares I'm out having fun and hopefully whinning a couple of times. Not pretending to be a racer but just having fun with cars.Face it things change and you have a couple of choices enjoy the day or stay home and talk about how things used to be or should be.Wanna race see you at armdrop. Re: Stay at home and talk about how it used to be:
Good line Ed, and very true. A number should get out and take in some races, and they'll change their minds.
Go walk the pits and look at the quality builds guys are running, talk to the racers, great people, and talented builders.
i hate all the electronics that bracket racing has now. you get 8 second cars running a 9.90 index and they blast out of the hole, stumble for a bit while electronics shuts it down, the blast the rest of the track. just plain looks stupid and it aint no fun to watch as far as i am concerned.
slowing down at the top end with you foot brake to help prevent break-out is one thing ..... all this electronic crap is something else completely. if you havent yet guessed ..... no i am NOT a fan.

Glad that was said (throttle stops). Many older racers from the 60's and 70's want to race, but not against all the electronic stuff on his / her car but against their opponents car and Driver.

I personally agree with you on all what you say,,,,to me it's not right at all..2 weeks ago I got put out on 2 separate occasions by 2 separate cars...computerised fuel injected junk...get out the lap top..dial the car in and basically steer it...the one car is capable of 6's...after he beat me and I use that wording loosely, I went over, congratulated him on his win and then asked him to show me his laptop...he thought it was funny..We call those monkey rides because you could train a monkey to steer it while the computer/electronics does the rest. But, we have to put up with it because the rules say it's allowed . That is also why I joined the ONDR...none of that computer geek crap allowed...
