Had an intresting morning today.I am not in any way a Sunday morning person. In fact I just recently found out that there is a 10oclock in the morning on a Sunday so you can imagine what I thought when Grumpy phones me Saturday night  and says were going on a road trip 7oclock Sunday morning.Seams we had been invited to join The Oshawa Aces for a breakfast run and that we had to meet them at a doughnut shop in Oshawa at 9oclock.Now I can tell you I wasn't overly excited to get up early and drive to an Oshawa doughnut shop for breakfast, but when Grumpy says were going, well were going. So I manage to drag my but out of bed and head out to meet at his house as he was driving us in the black woodpecker.I get almost to his house and I see him coming the other way towards me.I didn't think you were coming he says,I'm2minutes late I reply.Evidently 7:30 really means 7:28 to him .So off we go and pickup Molton from the Coasters along the way.Nice leasurely tour along #2 and were in Oshawa almost on time and still folowing Shawn around because since he is ahead he must know where were going right ,wrong.Evidently he is GPSing donught shops and were now at the wrong one.Now after a nice tour of south Oshawa we finaly find the right one by luck as we spotted a 56Chevy thru all the construction on Bloor St.Now we pull into the lot meet and greet the guys and check out eachothers rides and I figure were going to get some food, wrong. Now its back intothe rods and off we go up Simcoe St.I must say Simcoe St S in Oshawa at 9oclock in the morning is a really interesting site with some very interesting people who I can only guess were still up from the night before.Any way we head out of town North on Simcoe and it is a very nice drive thru the countryside.I had forgotten the fun and thumbs up you get when travelling in a group of old hotrods.Well we end up in Port Perry, now I haven't been in Port Perry for many years and wow has it ever grown.I guess a cassino will do that.Everybody gets parked and off we go to the restaurant ,only problem is half of us take door number one and end up in a grocery store. I asked one of our new friends,Fred I think it was, since I found out there were 3 guys named Fred on the trip(I thought for awhile it was was a club requirement)  if we were suposed to cook our meal ourselves off the shelves. Finally we all found the resturant and were seated and had a great meal and a good time getting to know each other.I looked down the table and thought how cool is this, all these guys from different clubs Aces,Coasters and Ratlers out laughing and cruisin as a group. The Aces were very cool and made us feel very welcom on there breakfast trip and I want to thank them for being kind enough to include us in there plans and we hope to get together again a few times soon.We Had to go because The Boy and I had planed on getting our cars ready for the Armdrop and there was lots to do.The trip home was fun till we realized that Molton wasn't behind us anymore,we had decided his days as a lead car were over.Turned around and found him on the side of the road ,evidently he had decided to wash his windshield with gas due to a broken gas filter hose ,and was fixing it .That done the rest of the trip was uneventful but a good ending to a fun morning.Once again thanks to the guys from the Aces for including us we had a great time and it was worth getting up for.I am going to try again to post some pictures even though the computer refuses to cooperate.    Ed

I too can relate to the 7:30am Sunday morning "thing". If I'm up at that time its because I've stayed up all night. lol.
Sounds like it was worth getting up and on the road at that time.
Hopefully your "confuter|" cooperates and lets you post pics.

I finally figured it out. They are on the other New Friends thred. The hardest part is getting the pictures from the camera to the little stick that goes in the computer.I get my son,The Boy to do that for me, as I haven't a clue how that works.Speeking of cameras I just found a drawer full of old films and took them to the Shoppers to be developed The young girl who was at the counter kinda looked at the bag of films and then looked at me with this odd expression she then called for help and fortunately an older lady came to help. She had to show the girl what to do with this anchant tecnology.I got some of them back and some were old family pictures that had been forgotton about, really fun to see again.Gee I wonder who sells photo flash powder for my next round of picture taking obviousely a trip to Shoppers would be a waist of time. Ed, i have heard of people finding old rolls of film that were 20-30 years old, had them developed and the pics came out ok.

Amazing that the images are still there sitting all those years!! Film developers are getting scarce apparently with the now digital cameras everyone has.

Yes Ray,I was surprized at how many actually survived. I have a feeling that both digital cameras and the chemicals they have to use to process old style films may have an equal part in the demise of the film developing industry. Ed

It was nice meeting you all for this trip. Hopefully we can do that some more, next time I suppose we should head up your way instead!

As for the Oshawa folks on a Sunday morning, sad to say, they are there EVERY morning.

Great day. Glad to meet all the Aces that went to breakfast. See ya's Saturday.

FYI, gasoline makes an EXCELLENT glass cleaner. Didn't mark up my $100 paint job either.
