remember when this was a hot thread,

"send them to manitoba, my buddys brother has a chroming outfit there, dirt cheap compared to ontario due to the regulations they have here."

well i might of cracked it. i stumbled into a guy who had sent his chrome west by bus to be done and he gave me the details. i will let you know early next week on the poop of this.  i got my front bumper back for the 67 galaxie from jim's plating in scarboro and it looks really good, $850.00. i should of sent the rear bumper but i thought it might be ok. not. when i put the front and rear bumpers together on the floor it was drastic the difference. now i have to do the rear one also. if this pans out it might be getting a bus ride. jim's quoted me 800.00 for the rear one.  lets see where it goes.

Odd that this would come up now as I just learned yesterday that 'Plating Master' has gone back into the bumper business since 'Midway' went under. It seems that there just wasn't enough work for both chromers to be doing bumpers, so Plating Master focused on smaller stuff and motorcycle parts. Good to have another local player in the game- I hope they can under cut the Cambridge guys. I heard from second hand info that the average will go for about $600 each - obviously a huge Caddy bumper will be more and a tiny Maverick would be much less.I may send a little business their way over the winter and will definitely report back here when I do!

I remember it well.  I think I started it.

This was just a joke - never did hear any info from "my buddy's brother" - About "dirt cheap pricing". Just talk.

Hope you have cracked it.  Please let us know what you find out.

I ended up taking my F & R Maverick big bumpers to the All Ford Nationals in Carlisle back in the spring.  I was going any way.  I left them with Tri Cities Plating from Tennessee.  Leaving Tuesday for Fall Carlisle.  My bumpers will be there for pick up.  Pricing is $300. Each.  Cambridge quoted $850.

I know I'm going to get a crap storm on this but has anyone tried chrome wrap on their bumpers? Apparently it conforms to any shape.

This guy cant keep his story straight for the life of him. Might ship to Canada  might not .Vinyl made in Canada but A 100% product made in the USA. Conforms to a variety of shapes but does not stretch at all.

I think its a great product , can you imagine if they made a black velvet Line with pictures of Elvis on it to complement the lower chrome rockers.Yowza
