Awesome, thanks Chuck. I'm hoping he's just using the picture. I don't mind him using the picture, but his add should reflect that, "Not the one pictured", or "picture for reference".
Very much appreciated!

I would contact Kijiji. I do not trust to reply on this one, knowing that it's a scam. I hate it when there is no contact phone number, forcing you to make the initial contact - now he has your e-mail and unless he replies, you have nothing, Could you try a library or work computer?
Check into the legal side of things. It might be just against Kijiji policy and they'll cancel the ad. Or it's likely illegal and the police may take on the investigation and make a sting, but without loss of property they'll likely say they don't have the resources. It sucks that bad things have to happen before they take action, but I wish you the best of luck getting this sicko.

Slim, thanks for posting those links, I was sure I had deleted all my pictures from the A body forum. The car was in Mopar Muscle magazine about 5 years ago, I didn't realize they kept some of the pics and posted them on their website also, although I wouldn't have been opposed to that. On the ownership, under colour, it's listed as BRN (brown).
I've sent Kijiji an email reporting this, the Police fraud unit is on the way as I type this.
He's even updated his add, but still doesn't state that it's not the car pictured.
And I was looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend.
I have to admit, he does write up a good sales pitch, maybe I'll get him to write my for sale add when I decide to sell it.

That's my car, my picture, and also a very accurate description, aside from the mileage.
Maybe he's only using the picture to lure potential buyers..., but I'm worried.
What would you do?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Slim provided a Mopar site with additional pictures, are they of your car as well? If so it looks like he's trying to sell your vehicle. If he has the 'documentation' to support what ever he has, and it happens to be your info, where does that put you? He just stole and sold your car without taking it. Try getting license renewal, insurance, etc. in the future if you no longer own it. The real if'y part is the statement that not just anybody gets to 'see' it. He'll take you to it if he likes the look of you. Sounds a lot like deja-vu, can you say Millard/Bosma? I wouldn't dick with it, I'd be on the phone to the cops in a flash. If it's nothing, I would guess he'll think twice before ripping off pictures in the future. (He's misrepresenting as it is.) If it is fraud/theft, you stopped it before it got out of hand.
Car has original paint, EL5 Butterscotch, TX9 black bucket seat interior, original rust free mint undercarriage including inspection marks throughout the underside, engine bay, trunk, original dual exhaust with pentastar mufflers and original tips. In heated garage since 1972 when the owner - my dad- passed away. Car has only 800 miles. Yes 800 miles ! Comes with Cragar SS wheels and newer tires pictured as well as original date coded rallye wheels with original polyglas tires that came with the car since new. Came with and still has original bucket seats, no console, 4 speed hurst shifter on the floor, 3;55 suregrip 8 3/4 rear end, rallye gauges with tach option, dual exhaust with chrome tips, rear wing, factory stripe option, original spare, jack, tire iron, jack instruction decal, trunk mat with part number etc. EVERYTHING works perfect and drives perfect like a brand new car. Only thing that was done to car since new is new battery and rearched leafs. Original bill of sale, copy of original ownership, original fender tag and build sheet. It does not get more documented than this.
Time to let her go but only to a good home. I am very protective of this car. Only a couple of people know the car exists but those that know, I trust and will tell me right away who the good and bad are in Moparland. Car will only be shown to the good guys. Accepting offers. Tell me what you would like to offer and if interested and it's reasonable, I will be happy to show you the car. Thanks. Anthony
I to sent reply , tryin to get more B S from him .. i would take take this to the copslet them deal with this guys fraud...dont wait ,,,do tomorrow...I used to deal with fraud cases , this aint the 1 st time hes done this....these guys dissapear as fast as they appear... go to police in the morning...
Cops were here last night, the add got deleted about 1/2hr after they left. Did they get it deleted? Did this guy catch wind somehow through car forums that I was unto him? The add got 900 plus hits is less then 10hrs., and many emails from members from this forum as well as others.
My car is very well known in the Mopar scene, it's an extremely rare colour, so when one pops up for sale, it doesn't go unnoticed.
I received a few emails from friends notifying me about this add also, although I caught it a mere 15mins after it went up (lucky me). It's nice to know someone else is watching.
I'm relieved the add has been taken down, but I still have a bunch of unanswered questions. I'll be sleeping with one eye open.

Looks like it's been taken down. There's a "report ad" feature at the top of the kijiji page where you can report it as a scam. It would be taken down pretty fast if you use that feature.
Chuck, you're not the only one, 5-6 other guys contacted him on my behalf, not one got a response.
I did get this from another forum.
Hopefully this is the end of it. I haven't heard from the police, and I probably (or is that prolly?) won't, unless I inquire about the occurrence number.

Question....Did the cops take this seriously?...just wondering how they feel about this type of stuff?
Absolutely, they took it seriously. They wanted all the proof, information etc...that undeniably that was my car. So I showed them the pics that were on the internet, they took pics of my car sitting in the garage. They also asked me about the paint codes etc...that this fellow had posted, so I showed them the fender tag and pointed out the paint code...
I didn't think they would take it seriously. You know, like when a car gets stolen, they don't really look for it, if it shows up, it shows up.
The cops were more concerned about him taking deposit money from people to hold the car until they could "get to see it". They contacted dispatch with the ad number etc...and requested to get the info transferred to the Gatineau police to investigate.
I was actually surprised they showed up within 1/2hr from me calling them, considering it was 10:30pm on a Friday evening.
I have no contact from my inquiry so far..So lets hope they have his gonads in a tight squeeeeze...till his eye-balls are looking like a bug eyed sprite...
i spoke tp a cop friend of mine and this happens more often then you would think, but possesion is the factor here, its unlikely the guy could sell your car out from under you if its locked up in ur garage, even if people showed up saying they bought your car as soon as the police reviewed the forged signature on thier owner ship i highley doubt you would have lost ur car. what does happen i am told is people like this take deposits from people and dissappear, perhaps what this guy was planning on doing
The grey area here Stax is that I was going to take the car to storage this weekend, weather permitting, then the car would not have been on my property, therefore not in my possession, and that's where it gets complicated.
Lots of cars are being sold these days over the internet, by looking at pictures.
But like you said, it's more so that they were looking for deposit $ and disappear.
I guess we should all get some kind of magnetic plate covers for shows and pictures to help stop some of this kind of thing and maybe make it a little more difficult for the bad guys. Ed

this person could not have known you were putting the car into storage unless they are watching and stalking you. hard to say i guess. i am paranoid enough about people breaking into my shop and raiding the hoard, its happened to me before.
