Some people sure must have some big cahonies to walk up somebodies driveway and leave with their pride and joy. We've had a couple of examples of that up here in North Bay too. My fingers are crossed for you buddy that he gets it back in one piece

Jerry Hoppe just called me and informed me that his 77 Impala big block 6:71 blower care has been stolen. They took it right out of his driveway yesterday morning between 12:30 AM and 6:00AM. If you spot the car please phone the local cops to report it, OK?
The last one that went "GONE" posted here was the grey primered Barracuda of a Glenn? from London. Did anything ever show up except finding the trailer in Kitchener or?
That's the last I heard of that one also, I haven't talked to any ONDR members about it. It is Glenn, Glenn Gray, poor guy ended up in the hospital. I haven't heard anything else.
The trailer was found in Waterloo.

What would you do to prevent theft if you had to park your good car in your driveway?
Obviously, they didn't drive it away so disabling the ignition is not the answer.
Chains, locks, cables?
That's gotta suck, Have an eye open in this part of town.

might be a good topic for another post.
i might be parking a car outside next year and i've already toyed with the idea of 'massive D-rings and a chain or two' (seriously). video security cameras can be had cheap. rigging up a motion sensor (that isnt obvious) and connecting it to a radio in your bedroom wouldnt be hard to do (no lights come on to alert the thieves, just a radio turns on that wakes you up. typical cheap car alarm cant hurt too.
thats really gotta suck tho ....... heres hoping its recovered.
Also, with most of today's wireless home alarm systems.
Some can have partitions created. Place a motion sensor in the car and once it moves, the alarm goes off.
These type of thefts are happening more and more. The worst part is, the police don't make any special efforts to find the car. If they happen to come across it, then no problem, but looking for it, nope.
That's really got to suck, I'll keep my eyes and ears open, and spread the word.
I wish him the best of luck finding it and in one piece.

Driving it would be the easiest and attract the lest suspicion . Really look to me like who ever grabbed it had scoped it out earlier and came back . Not a car that would stand out as special at night driving by.Id put money on this was taken for the drive train and the owner has at least met or knows the person that grabbed it. You can stop or detour an armature but the professional jerk offs are already three steps ahead of you.
I rarely leave my 57 parked in the driveway without another car or truck parked right up on its ass.I also disable the entire electrical system. They would have to move several to get it out.... Its a pain in the ass when "I" want to drive it!

Guy in Hamilton neighbor knocks on his door and ask him to move his car off his front lawn? you guessed it.
I've sent this to every car guy I know. I sure hope the bastard that stole this ride gets caught and someone beats the crap out of him. My nephew's pickup and snowmobile were stolen from Cambridge a few years back and the cops told my brother to drive around the reserve. Sure enough there was the truck, still smok'n and no sign of the SkiDoo.

Mike,

Mike any new updates on the "T"
The same people selling the tracker are selling a detector to find it ? Realy you will only track down some droop ass punk thats dummer then dog #### . then when you beat the crap out A the turd the cops will throw you in Jail . What the #### is wrong with this picture. Welcome to Ontario.
Negatively thinking, you could be right and charged with assault. But whose to say you will beat them up, maybe they will put you in the hospital or the morgue.
Positively thinking, if you are notified that your car has been stolen, you would phone 911, report your car stolen and tell the police that you are tracking it on GPS,
tell them where the car is and let the police do what they get paid for.
If you are right and there is a device to detect it, I would think that they would use it to find out if your car is protected by the device and then move on to an easier target.
Being proactive you have a better chance of protecting your prize possessions than being reactive and running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
We all know that if they are professionals and if they want your car, they will probably take it and at least this way, you might have a chance.
Nuff said.

Its obvious No one has ever stolen your car . 1st off call 911 and they will tell you to hang up and call the station on the regular line . Its not an emergency . 2nd when you do call the station they will tell you to come down and make out a report. Don't expect them to send someone to you.if you tell them your tracking it someone might call you back in a day or two. I personally made a report to these so called professionals that a guy with a CAA truck was stealing cars from lots in Burlington . how did I know this you ask . Because I caught him trying to steel mine. Not a word of a lie 6 weeks went by before some one bothered to call back. I am proactive , I don't call 911
Let the Police do what they get paid for !!!! That's the best one I've heard in a long time !! Almost as good as the joke I heard last week about an honest politician.
Although we love our rides......I do the best I can to protect them, insure them for theft and then live my life.
I will not nor would I encourage my hubby/kids to jeopardise there safety/lives for an object.
And no.....the cops aren't gonna chase my stolen vehicle up and down the road to retrieve it. That's what insurance is for. to cover your loss.
My mother had a knife held to her while getting in her van, the kid demanded her keys. My huge brother was able to kick the living sh*t out of the guy to get him out of the van and away from her......but if the kid had a gun..... could have went down very different!!
My hubby has his truck broke into and ignition vandalised/stereo stolen (I must have scared them off before they could steal it) It sucks for sure. Hey Art.....lock your truck!!!
Does it suck that something we have worked so hard on is taken from us??? Of course!!! But am I willing to get hurt/die or some cop or innocent family hurt while my stolen car is being driven erratically to get away......Not a chance!!!
