I have just completed a DOVE year (1970) Big Block Ford 460 (C heads and A block) and matching C6 transmission rebuild project.
The package I am selling includes the rebuilt engine and rebuilt transmission along with the items listed below.
The drive shaft, yolk, and complete nine inch rear end (2.73 gears) and steel wheels, numbers matching engine brackets and components including, A/C compressor, Air pump, Power steering pump, Power brakes, are original not restored or repaired.
The engine was built by Head and Block Specialty in Stoney Creek and has 20 minutes running on the first start cam break- in, and 10 minutes on second start to show a potential buyer (30 minutes total as of October 9/2013).
Crank polished, all new bearings, new pistons and rings, new comp cam, new cam bearings, new valves and springs, new timing set, new oil pump, new water pump, new starter, new alternator, new carburetor, but using the original distributor, coil and wires.
The engine is a 9:5:1 compression ratio designed to run smoothly on modern fuel with a mild cam still making good power, torque, and vacuum.
The C6 was rebuilt by Brant Transmission in Burlington and bench tested.
The pair are in a custom running stand with a radiator and electric fan, exhaust manifold and mufflers, battery, fuel tank, oil and temperature gauges, push button starter and switch.
The engine makes good oil pressure (over 70 lbs at start up and over 40 lbs after 20 minutes), runs at 200 degrees after 20 min and has no leaks or issues.
The package can be seen and heard running any time with an appointment, and if you are a serious buyer we can remove the pan and covers for inspection.
