Last Saturday Don from Dons upholstery and auto glass came by and installed the front windshield. Great guy and would recommend him to anyone.
Tonight was the first test drive in the car and Ben's first time driving it other than in the driveway. Car ran flawlessly. We will make it to the Camaro nationals as was our goal but there is still lots of detailing to get done. Some for the show and some after. Ben was extremely happy to be behind the wheel of the car he had worked so hard on for so long.
It all came together Ben......nice work.

I didnt take too many pictures my self, but my cousin got like 200+ from the nationals. Either or the car drives great and made it to the show no problem at all. Met some cool people, and had a great time
As for the brantford cruise, I could almost say it was even better! Besides parking in the Canadian parking lot with a bunch of jerks who wouldnt let me park, it was an awesome night. Cruised along with quite a few people, side by side by Glenn for a while, and with Ken and his nova for a while too.
Awesome experiance. For anyone who may read this that hosted the event, thank you very much.
The car turned out great Ben! I guess you can do all the TIG welding and let Dad do the painting!LOL!!! I'm proud and jealerous all at the same time!!!

Good job Ben, the car looks great! All that hard work cleaning, sanding, prepping and painting really paid off. You should be proud of what you have accomplished!
Just a quick update for those interested in what Ben's up to:
Hey Kurt Hey Oldguy Hey Glen
And a public thanks to Slim for his offer of parts for Ben and this project.
His some pics of the next project of his. "the winter beater"
This will be Ben's chance to do some metal replacement and bondo work so to speak. Truck doesn't look to bad but needs lots of work. A Buddy at work sold him the truck for $250.00 plus a couple plastic model kits. Another buddy at work sold him a parts truck which by the time he parted it out and scrapped it cost him the big "zero $$$" and we have the rear end for our Nova project. Not looking to make this a posted build project but here some pics of the before shots.
Truck was a great deal. Its got new exhaust, a mint set of winters and starts and runs no problem.
Im gonna blob some tremclad on the frame after I get the reat shock mount installed and fixed.
Off of the other truck, I got a mint hood, chrome front bumper stuff, the different colored box shown in the photos, and a new door.
Car will be color changed to silver by the end of the journey, and will have new brakes because a wheel cyl blew in the black.

Why not? It's a build project and will be something to remember, look back on and be proud of! And will show others, young and old, how to do it right and still be on a small budget!!!

This one is more about learning than it is about anything else. Not really a Hotrod either. But we can throw a few pics up if you'd like.

Dont worry, I was going to start a thread anyways showing what was done. It will be quite quick as its being done over the christmas break. Ill title it, " 'Ol Bessie - (Really) Low Budget Winter Beater"
Thanks for the offer Glenn, I will keep it in mind. Just that number for parts source is going to come in handy, Im sure.
This friday Im going to try and have a lot done on the truck so I will probably make the thread then.
Just about finshed doijng the intake manifold gaskets and cleaning up the top end of the motor. Put a new coil, cap and rotor, wires and temp sensor into the car and cleaned it up a little. Just hoping it starts tonight when I put coolant in it.
Ben took his car down to the Camaro Nationals in Oakville this weekend. He stayed in the hotel Friday and by the time I got there Saturday with Jacob, Ben was already met a bunch of other Camaro owners and was fitting in like he'd known them for years. He decided to get the car judged this year in the "driven" class. We have to wait for the results though. Cool show. Saw the 2014 Z-28 up close. Very cool car. Anyways...no pictures and it didn't happen.

The kid is still driving the Camaro and having a blast. Car is working real nice. We were camping in the lake Huron area and Ben had to drive himself. Got a couple shots by the lake.
Cheers

Some updates....Ben did a LS swap and replaced the 2.8 V6 with a 4.8 out of a 2000 chev truck. Car has been to the track and went from a 17.1 car to a 14.49 AT 95MPH car.
I know everyone likes pictures.....so Cheers!!! Pictures are also from the Camaro Nationals 2016.

Ben did some more upgrades late in the summer. He added a 4th generation rear end with 3:73 posi. The new rear is 2 inches wider on each side, making new rims(corvette) necessary. To stay with the plain jane kinda vibe he chose a simple star style rim. 17's front 18's rear. The new rear was a disc brake set up.
In the spring he is looking to up grade his exhaust, bigger rear tires and maybe bigger discs on the front.

This Camaro is still going strong and looking good. This picture is from last weekend in Ohio at a warplane museum. The Camaro club banquet was held in the hanger.
