is this yours or are you doing repairs etc to this one?
reason im asking is i know of someone with a turbo6 (grand national engine) in a countach kit car and it barely runs ...... after having been built by a big (local to the GTA) name in grand nationals (starts with the letter Z) and then installed somewhere else then bounced around several shops in an attempt to get it to run well with no luck.
It's not mine. It's here to get it running, fix the floor and rockers, put it back together and then it's off somewhere for paint.
These things are a pretty basic set-up really. Should not be rocket science to figure out what's wrong with the kit car. Is it a stock engine set-up or modded? Proven matched combination of parts or something thrown together? Is it just the tune that is not right or something mechanical?
Problem of too many hands have been at it you will have to start from scratch. Wiring first.

here is what i know of the story as has been told to me. the engine is a grand national turbo engine that was built up/modded by a guy by the name of "Zig_y" who has a tremendous amount of experience building and drag racing cars (he used to street race a sbc vega wagon that was running tens way back in the early 80's at warden and sheppard then got into the turbo buicks). for reasons that i havent heard the engine etc was installed somewhere else (i really dont know why as i think i would have had the engine builder do the install as he knows what hes done to it and what it needs as far as engine management systems go). after the installation the engine 'never ran right' (i dont really know what is meant by that) and as far as i know the car was brought home and sat for quite a while (owner has some very serious health issues and just couldnt/didnt want to deal with it). last summer (i think) the car was brought to another shop and they did a ton of work to the engine (again, this is the story as i have been told) ...... this shop took the engine apart claiming the cylinders had been 'washed' and it needed a hone and rings. end result (as it stands right now) is the car is back home after leaving this second shop and it is still not driveable. my first thought was 'if the engine isnt running well then take it back to Zig_y and have him go over everything from scratch' unfortunately this never happened (i do not know why the owner hasnt taken the car to Zig_y) and (im guessing here) Zig_y would probably be pissed that so many different people have messed with it now. i asked about the car a couple of months back and was told 'the owner will probably pass away before that thing ever runs right'. far as i know the car is just sitting at home in the guys garage in claremont.
i am guessing/trust the engine was done correctly (initally) due to my understanding that Zig_y (just mixing up the name a bit so it doesnt appear in a google search) as he has a lot of knowledge/experience with these engines. i would put money on it that it has to do with the engine management/fuel system it just seems that no one can figure out what the issue really is and i agree that too many hands already messing would mean diagnosis should be a 'start from scratch, not assuming anything is as it should be'.
if taking on this project interests you i could get in touch with the owner and direct your way then it would be up to the owner to decide if he wants to put anymore time/money into this thing for all i know he could have just given up on it completely.
keep in mind the story i laid out above is as i understand it there could be/most likely is more to it than i know.
sorry i didnt post earlier i missed your reply.
edit: i (personally) would assume the engine itself was done right using components that are known to work well together due to my knowledge that the builder of the engine itself is very experienced with turbo buicks. that being said who knows what changes have been made by the other shops (i have heard it has been to two shops but it could possibly be more). i would also assume that suggestion were made by the engine builder as to what engine management systems are needed to make it run well ....... where it all went wrong i have no idea. oh and i do know that assumptions arent the best way to determine problems

Back from paint and slowly going back together. Outside is pretty much done , interior this week is the plan after a trip to the yard for some missing pieces. A worthwhile rescue.

Nice job! I was working at a Buick dealership when they were new and always preferred those nice chrome wheels over the alloys. I got to deliver a few new units and man they were quick! The fact that they were 6 cylinders just didn't compute in my brain!
