This is not hot rod related but I am getting desperate, I just can't take it anymore.
I am looking for an HVAC Controller for my wife's '04 Yukon, it is the dual zone climate control type.
As you can imagine, I failed to understand the importance of heat in a vehicle I rarely drive, but now it is really starting to affect the enjoyment of my life because my wife now complains to me multiple times a day..."My truck has no heat...I'm cold...the kids lips turn blue etc". You can understand my frustration I am sure.
I've called around a few places for a used one with no luck.
I am hoping someone might have one so that I can fix this problem and can go back to ignoring our daily drivers.
Does anyone else hate working on their daily drivers as much as me?
Cant help you with the controller Mark, but can b!tch about hating the daily drivers....Wifes POS 05 Uplander is setting off some G'damn alarm....no reason given on the display. If I disconnect the battery and reset everything, it goes off until the next day, then it starts again.....ready to plant a stick of TNT under it
If you have done a search seems like every part of this system has caused trouble. Also recall on blower motors depending what you have there are ways to calibrate to sink the servos on temp/gates. lot of information out there . seeems rock auto has the cheapist replacement parts. As far as woking on cars my 57 is my daily driver and my winterbeater is a rusty piece of crap that you know when you remove one part you open a can of worms.
Yes I've done some research on these and have been waiting for something to go wrong with it. It may become my winter vehicle if I don't fix it soon and my wife will be driving my truck!
Have you taken it apart to see if it can be repaired?? Even the electronic controllers can be repaired, because 9 times out of 10 it's a mechanical problem like a cold solder joint, broken wire or a bit of corrosion.
