Hard, hard question ,lots of great Rockabilly out there. Had I known you liked Rockabilly terry,I would have picked you up to go see the Lohrwoods in Peterborough last Friday nit. These guys are pretty awesome for a live traditional three piece ,yup with a standup slap doghouse bass!

You lucky Dog! Enjoy the night, I'm totally jealerous!!!
A buddy of mine has a really bitchin' Bootleg DVD of a concert in Japan- Those guys and gals go absolutely gonzo for that stuff over there, a huge cult following for all that is Rockabilly and Hot Rods. So cool that all those miles away, they appreciate and immerse themselves in our culture, likely more than we do ourselves!

Wow, didn't think there were so many rock a billy fans on this site. I can listen to this stuff all day! Too bad someone wouldn't organize a rock a billy festival in Ontario.
I've never even seen a "rockabilly" section in a music store. Sirius should have a station dedicated to it. Little Steven's Underground Garage, Elvis and sometimes one of the country stations will run some old style rockabilly and some new stuff. But a dedicated channel, man that would be cool.

I highly suggest trying this link to the Motorbilly Radio show, this is Del Villereal from Detroit,he is the music on the basement during the Autorama in the Cobo Hall and a real nice genuine guy... I listen every day! His show isn't like the typical streaming radio show, it is new all of the time, he does requests quickly as well. If you like the free version' I highly recommend the paid for VIP version too! it gives access to thousands of streaming radio stations with no less than twenty Rockabilly and Surf stations too.. Scotia Surfer is another favourite. www.live365.com/stations/motorbilly

love rockabilly - never hear of anyone playin around here
as to Mr Hawkins - been to four of his concerts and never heard him sing - he was always too drunk or stoned to play by the time the cover band was done
have sat and had drinks with him while his son played though
There are a lot of great local rockabilly acts actually, more in Ontario and Quebec than most can imagine... Ken I will call you the next time we are going to Peterpatch to see one and I will swing by and grab you...
