im installing a 69 350 in my coe, it has the cannister style filter on it, ive never actually changed one to a spin on type but given the aged folk who frequent this site im just wondering how its done before i actually tackle it myself, im thinking its just a piece that accepts the threads of the spin on filter
Not that it really matters, but a 69 or 70 SBC should have the spin on filter.....pre 68 had the canister
When I got my 58, 7 years ago and posted up pictures on another forum. I got into the same debate, my suffix code definitely tells me that the block is 1970 but did have the canister type filter. and it is the 0010 block from a Caprice or other car.

i had that thought as well, so either the truck was a 67 or 68, not a 69 like the chump who owned it told me. i tried to buy it for 700 but the clown insisted it was worth thousands for scrap, so i said fine keep it. he ended up scrapping it and got 430 dollars for it. i know this because i know the wrecking yard he brought it to. i still ended up buying the engine and dump cylinder from it but i would have rather gotten the whole truck. i saw him a few days later by chance and i made sure i rubbed it in rather well that he should have taken my offer. guy was a dumb ass dirt farmer
