Bugatti Aerolithe question for the Guild of Automotive Restorers.

i know someone from the guild is a member on this site so this post is basically a question to them.

being fascinated by your aerolithe project but never having seen it in person i thought id do some poking around the internet to find out more about your car in particular and the aerolithe history in general.  while on youtube i stumbled across what appears to be another aerolithe coupe already in existence, running and driving (i am including the link to the video).  what do you know about this other car?  is it also a recreation?  is it one of the lost originals?  if it is a recreation how does it differ from your car?  i would assume that the car in this video was researched/assessed by the guild during the course of your own cars construction in order to compare ....... well, virtually everything (body construction, overall dimensions, interior etc etc).  i thought the guild had created a only-one-in-the-world yet there appears to be another out there.  id love to hear what, if anything you, the Guild knows of this other car.

I watched the show when the one the guild built was unveiled in where ever the heck it was to some zillionaire rag-head in an oil poor country ..The car looked beautiful to me ..looked like a work of art..way above my pay scale for sure..I though they done a great job and I was glad to see a Canadian business that could be competitive with world class auto restoration..looked good to these old eyes..

I hope this link works,,, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTI5seuGi20

It's a video of a Jay Leno interview about the car.

It looks like they did an outstanding job.

I have seen the Guild's aerolithe in progress over the years and have seen the finished product in person and I must say (and I have no connection to the Guild) it is beautiful in every aspect.

Interesting to see that video you posted though. The Guild Aerolithe looks to have a much nicer/more refined finish overall.

One and the same group of clowns that threatened the site with legal action over their hokey ass TV show .

rather then being men and setting the story straight. frankly I don't care what they build truthfully I really don't care if they live or die.

Like all the other so called "reality shows",they need a tax write off,so they 'try' and produce a TV show, make a few episodes, sell them to a Station /Network and rerun them all year cry Watched one,had enough.Just BS. IMHO smile

I have tuned in back in the summer ...seems there are only about 3 episodes because they just rerun them . I prefer Counting Cars for that type of show .......that and Pawn Stars . Atleast they are entertaining .

Not ruffling any feathers? Then you're trying hard enough. biggrinbiggrin Give me a call, and I'll teach how to piss everyone off. When I say "everyone", I mean only the ones stupid enough to fall for my shenanigans. smilesmile

They don't do any thing we don't strive to do with our cars every day. Personally I think it's an ugly impractically designed car. Their T.V show misses the mark when they can't even hide screwing people over ie. the guy with the Lincoln. The head guy concedes in one show his guys are lazy and can't work together. I wouldn't hire these guys wash my car let alone build one.

actually they do.  apparently on all their cars other than the econoline, the parking brakes are mounted to the engine block confuse

i can honestly say i have no intention of doing that in my garage biggrin

I stand corrected. Has anyone gone to an auction and bought a car without proof of ownership? Just wondering how professional a move that was.
