I have seen a few of these in use. At night time, there is a green laser beam that comes from the top of the cab and is aimed towards the ditch. As the trailer tracks out, so does the laser beam. It gives the plow driver a reference point as to where the end of the trailer plow is. If you take hwy 6 north out of Mount Forest, go about a miles and on the left hand side is a company called Viking-Clives. They make a lot of them for export. Think it was first used in BC.

I first saw it on the 'movin' picher box' on Discovery Channel. The tow truck show out of BC, "Highway Thru Hell" (sic). Pretty slick operation, but each one puts three guys out of work - something to keep in mind while we are marveling at how awesome it is.

Those plows are not liked up here at all!! Lots of them being used to cut costs. (The never ending "Cut Costs".)
Been a number of bad accidents with them, --AND that liquid calcium sh*t in the tank gets into every nook and cranny of a vehichle. Worse **** to get off a car/truck , it's like liquid slime, wether trying to wash it off, or trying to get it off the windshield with the washers while driving.
That's what they started using this year down this way on the QE . Never seen the highway in such poor condition. They just skim over the hard packed snow and ice making it worse then if they did nothing. May as well run a Zamboni down the road at least it would be smooth
