I can see your thoughts... Leave it mostly stock on the exterior, stock interior, nothing flashy for a paint job. Good set of meats on steelies with dog dishes, or use the rims that are on it. Just set up the suspension and a healthy driveline. The car is not something that most would consider a challenge in stock appearing form. Even leave it as a column shift. Power to weight would be the game plan.

You won't like my reply , but you asked .....I see issues everywhere and wouldn't pay over $500 for the car . I think underneath could be a nightmare .

Now that I look at it again , I would pss on the car and try to find a better one for more money ....but that's me .

im thinking along the lines of what teejay said.

id be willing to bet the frame rails and floors are a rotten mess. to be honest i dont even think theres enough good stuff left on that thing to be good as a parts car.

carl nailed it ........ toss in the trailer at that price PLUS delivery and .......... well, im still not sure that would be a good deal.

Yeah , I agree , it probably isn't even a decent donor car . If the top of the car looks like this , you're right , it's total rust underneath .....these were unibody weren't they ?....step dad's '64 Impala had a frame .

Just for comparison , there is a nicely restored '64 Malibu , 283 auto , air , everything works ....car looks really good in pics , asking $21 and change .....would I waste my time ( and probably 20 large in parts and work ) or buy a turnkey ? ...oh , at Carsonline.com

i was thinking of a total beater...something I could stab a 350 in with 3:55's or 3;73's and drive it like i stole it.

Thanks Teejay, not really looking, it was an impulse. I was trying to trade off a truck I have, but he wasn't interested.

Just as well, as it sounds like it was cooked and I've just decided to go back and hit the books hard at night (time for a career shift)

I would be interested in trading an '87 GM Short-box project on a pre-80's smallish-medium RWD car (must be mostly complete and rolling) if anyone is so inclined. I need a smaller project that I can park outside

I'd bet if I saw it up close, I'd agree wholeheartedly.

I just liked the thought of a smaller project that was mostly complete (I don't need a windshield or to see how fast I'm going...lol) and one that ran, sort of...so I could move it in and out of my shop without my current "hernia method". Tired of doing oil changes on the wife's van in a nasty crosswind. Its about twice due. Simply adding oil is considered an oil change, right??
