How to Regester car w/o Papers

The other thread made me think of this.

Lot of folks against buying a registration from a vendor, for one reason or another it would seem.

So how do you get a car with no papers registered?

Lets say you pulled a body/frame out of the woods somewhere where it had been abandoned for years.

Anyone done this?

Lets hear your story, how tough was it etc.

If you can find any VIN on the frame, that will help. I had an appraiser do a vin verification report and took that report to a service Ontario office that was familiar with that appraiser. At the office, I had to sign an affidavit swearing that I had tried all possible efforts to find the original papers etc. I was there about an hour but finally got it done. Cost about $250 for everything including the appraiser's report.

If you don't want the hassle of doing it yourself the Ontario sheriffs office offers a tittle service
