Guy's, I have to ask you all to please accept my apology for NOT posting an introduction when I first started coming into this Forum some time back. It was just brought to my attention today by an alert Member here, that I have failed to post an introduction as requested. I filled out a profile when I first came in,..but missed the introduction ,..SORRY,..and Thank You Duce for bringing this to my attention bud.  It certainly wasn't just ignored,..or done  intentionally,...and I was wondering when I advertised my car For Sale in here a short time back, why everyone was all of a sudden "Welcoming me" to the Forum,....Duhhhh,..I'm a slow learner. Had this been one of the Motorcycle Forums that I have belonged to over the years, and went into one of them trying to sell something without posting an introduction,..I would have had my A$$ chewed out Big Time, by every member in there real quick,..thank you all again for being so lenient.

I live in the Village of Vienna, Ont. 3 miles North of Port Burwell,..on the north Shore of Lake Erie.

I have a 1930 Model A Ford ( slightly modified ),..a project which I started two and a half years ago, and just finished completing this past summer,..( lying,..they are never finished ). Started with a mint, all steel, and bondo free car as I don't do body work,..and too old too learn. I had a few Model A projects back in the mid sixties,..a '47 Ford Coupe, slightly hot rodded Flattie,....Offy heads,..tri-power, etc.,...a '39 Pontiac Coupe, Solid axle..327 / 4 gear,..go like stink,..'55 Ford 390, Dual Quads / 4 gear,..solid front axle,..was actually a drag car, built by a good friend, Rick Nunn of Aylmer Ont. many years ago. Have also owned a number of Motorcycles over the years.

Got into Aviation,..started flying back in 1962,..racked up a total of 2300 +, accident free flying hours over the years ( more luck than good management / flying ). I opened my own shop and got into Rebuilding / Restoring - Antique - Classic - and - Airshow Aircraft,  28 years ago, and have been busy, busy at that ever since.

Any Forum members living a great distance from me who may ever get interested in a car in my area, and would like an opinion on it before making a long trip to check it out,..I would be more than happy to go and give it a once over for you,.. and shoot some pics if needed.

Welcome Wayne! I had to do a double take on this post, as I remember commenting on your A during the assembly portion of your build.....way back when! An intro is a good sign you'll be with us a while as opposed to being a lurker!!! As far as jumping all over ya for no intro like they do on the H.A.M.B. , fortunately we're not like that here. Enjoy the rst of your stay.

Victory,...Beautiful scoots to say the least !!  021.JPG028.JPGI sold my last bike 3 years ago Lightspeed, I had enough of being gouged by insurance brokers just to have the privilege to ride my own bike. The last bike I had was a 2004, 1500 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad. Bought it brand new off the showroom floor in 2005,..got a real good deal on it from Rick, down in Delhi. It was silver and blue,..nice,..but every place I went that there was Nomads present,..they were all the same color. Had enough of that,..so 3 weeks after buying it, with 600 miles on it, it became a basket case laying in the corner of my shop,..and I went paint shopping. Selected some Candy Turquoise and Vanilla shake ( off white ) and after a complete wet sanding I started laying some fresh color on it. I had never in my life painted anything a candy color,..and after laying on 3 coats of the turquoise on top of the blue base that went with it,..still no sign of the Turquoise,..I thought for sure that they had sold me all clear coat,..and finally the fourth coat it began to appear, with a shade of the green / blue tinge. Once I realized what was happening, it was great,..got to the shade of Turquoise that I wanted and she was done. After the third coat,..I called the supplier,..he just laughed and told me to " Keep spraying " , and quit when you get to the shade of the finish color that your after,..LOL. While I had the bike all apart I decided that it could use some bling to set it apart from the other Nomads too, and ended up dumping another bundle of cash into it. I owned a number of bikes over the years,..jap scrap,..brit bikes, and Harleys, including a couple choppers.

When you were at  the Edison Museum,..you were a block from my house,..I live right on that street. The big drawing card around here now is the Submarine that they have over in Port Burwell on static display,..big eye opener for me,..I never dreamed that submarines were that large,..the thing is humungus !!

LOL,..thanks Fordy,..appreciated !!  Yes I finally have the old stagecoach up and roaring,..my engine guy over in London ( Pete Vanbrug )  did a great job on the 302,..got just the racket that I wanted out of it. Every time I go to London I have looked for your farm,..but you are over in the Dorchester area,..I was thinking Belmont area all along was where you were located. I always pictured a big farmyard that looked like a Ford Dealership back 35 / 40  years ago, LOL. I seen the pics of the work shops as you were renovating them back awhile ago,..looking good,...nice to have that kind of room. I would have had the Model A out long before I did,..but I had to take 5 months off working on the car, and rebuild my buddies Crop Duster airplane for him,...he brought it to me in November,..and it needed to be back out by April, to go back to work,..by the time I got it out the door I was pretty burned out from the long hours, and needed some time off. What project(s) are you working on now,...did you get started on the '57 Gasser ??

^^ No I haven't started on the Gasser yet, as a matter of fact I got it moved out of the way into the small storage barn for the winter just in time. I was hoping for the kind of winter we had last year so I could maybe move some large equipment from shop 1 to shop 2. The wicked weather is now making me think it was a mistake to move that Gasser at all, I'm not the greatest at predicting the future I guess.

I'm in love with your car! You dun a good job on her!!! Good on you for getting it done dispite the distractions - I can't seem to get anything done for years now. Always something needing more attention.

Sorry shag,I don't have any pics of the '39 Poncho. That was back in '73 / '74, that I bought that car off a musician, I had tried on a few occasions to purchase it,..and he was having none of it,.then one day he phoned me and asked if I still wanted the Pontiac,.. he and his wife were splitting, and he needed some travelling $$$,..$500.00 and I picked it up and drove it home. It was all black primer at the time,..but other than for paint it was a finished rod. I drove it for the better part of the summer, and a tobacco farmer made me an offer on it that I would have been crazy not to take,..and he made off with it. The car ended up down around Port Dover,..don't know if it still exists or not.

Your friend has a great old airplane in a Fleet Canuck sasquatch. Those things are built like a Tank,..tougher than any plane of that era that's still out there. Not too many of them around either.

If that is a North /  South strip only John, ( 3600 Ft. ) that too is a turf, Farm strip. It's located east of # 19 Highway on the 5th line South East of Straffordville. That belongs to Lauren and T.J. Lilliman. I kept some of my own airplanes out there for a few years.

Nice looking Nomad you had. Really well done, I would have liked to see the paint in person.
I was holidays a couple of years ago. Heading to Dover for Friday the 13th when I saw the road sign for the museum. Had to stop and check it out. Time well spent.

Mike,...The big red brick house that the museum is located in was owned by a local tobacco farmer and his Mother. They lived there in town and rented the farmhouse out, as the home in the village had been the family home for years. The mother passed away,..and the son eventually moved to the farm home. A friend of mine rented the house off the son, ( basically furnished ),...I went by to visit him one day, and he took me for a tour through the house,...you would not believe the antiques in that home,...everything was antique,..right down to the wood fired cook stove, to the porcelain tea pots, and tea kettles,...it was like walking into a time warp,..and everything in the building was immaculate,..super clean,...and everything in it's place. My friend told me that he was already looking for another place to rent because the responsibility was just too great for him,.. he was scared to death that something would get broken,..or stolen. The only thing I seen in the place that appeared modern,..was a few magazines,..that was it. I have seen new homes that weren't that immaculately kept, unbelievable. I believe that when the son died, he left that home to the village specifically for use as the Thomas Edison Museum,...however,...my wife's Aunt also left her home ( one of the oldest houses left in the village )  and property to the village of Vienna for museum purposes,....strangely enough,..the whole damned works was purchased at a fire sale price by the town Reeve, ( never listed for sale to the public ) ...the house was purchased by a young lady, and moved to Port Burwell where it still sits today fully renovated back to it's time period,..otherwise it would have been torn down. That's about the only GOOD thing that came out of the whole deal,..the rest was sold off as building lots where new homes sit today.

You are from the Belleville area Mike,..have you ever seen a '37 to maybe 1940, Dodge or Plymouth ( 3 / 5 window ) Coupe around Belleville that's for sale ?? I seen it on Kijiji, ( briefly ),..and it was all original,..right down to the wheels.Nice looking car from what I could tell via the photo's.

Wayne
