Did the same for me on my 2 Mr Heater 80000 BTU furnaces. Great guys, great service. By the way, Had a noise in one, still operating great, but Mr Heater expedited a new fan motor to me at no charge even after the warranty expired.

They now have an Ontario Depot /Wharehouse / Parts.Never seen many in use so we see how long it lasts. You have to run them  once in a while  to keep them in good order?

There's natural gas conversion kits available to convert any gas powered engine.  http://www.propane-generators.com/

I'm thinking of converting my Honda generator. Would cost about $200

John, yup, fire it up regularly, let it come up to temp each time, put a load on it, skil saw is a good one. Run it for?? 5 min or so. If it's stored in the cold, i'd pull the battery, keep it inside till each fire up.
Those chinese engines, though lots of people bitch about everything chinese, are getting pretty good.
Those old Kholer, Techumseh, and Briggs engines had their problems also.
With this last storm and so many loosing power, there has to be another big run on generators again.

John

I am in the market for a generator similar to what you bought. I have read tons on the Champion 6500 tonight and it is well thought of. I have been in the TSC web site but can find no mention of this unit. What is the flyer dated and what is the sale price?

Thanks
Warren

X2 sas-mine comes on every saturday morning for about 5min but once a month i flip the main and make it work the gen. i had a problem with a big portable honda that i didn't run enough and had to have the gen cleaned and repaired. tech said lack of use and not letting them run with no load for a bit after use to cool is hard on them.

the one now at the house has a batt tender on it. the diesel one at my business we had wired to start with plugging into one of our 24volt pallet lifts. i run it once a month under load also. the hard part was remembering to do it. at home now when i am cutting grass or plowing snow i flip the breaker on the pole for a bit. at work i just had it wrote into monthly maintenance schedule and documented for insurance reasons. meat business. bottom line, i think we are going to have more power outs do to our getting older grid system and our goverment spending billions on closing or moving plants, etc, rather than upgrading.  just me.

www.costco.ca/generators.html
Some of these are cheaper in Canada than in USA or eBay.

Just thought i'd mention this for the heck of it:
I have a book by "Alan King" from the usa about old generators.

I think it was in 1923 they had "Remote start" generators back then!! Pretty sure it could be started from up to 600ft away.

It was shut down automatically when the last power drain quit, Eg:, when the last light bulb was turned off in the home/shop.

"New technology today???"
