I,m looking to change the gear ratio in my van this year. The van is a one ton and has a 9 3/4 Dana 60 with 410 gears. I need to get something a little more highway friendly, LOL. There is only one other gear set in the mid 3,s I,ve been told for this diff. I,ll have to crawl under again to get the numbers off it. Any info or leads would be appreciated.

i was down to roblins salvage last summer and he had several old vans. give him a call, Lawrence.
613-476-5479 he knows what he's got there, believe me. north of picton.
if memory serves you will also need the carrier to go to a 3 series gear
you may find that at some $300 for gears and $3-400 for a carrier plus new shims etc, that a whole rear axle might be a better choice as not many home mechanics can change out a gear set properly
ive installed lots of gears, im pretty sure a dana with a 4.10 will accept a 3.52 but im not exactley sure. when the ratio changes the pinion gear gets bigger or smaller and the ring gets fatter or thinner. as long as the carrier can move enough to make the new ring contact the pinion you should be ok.
