Did anyone else read in the Wheels section of the Star on the weekend that Ford is starting to reproduce 5window coupe bodies from the origional stampings. This was in a colum from one of the reporters covering the Detroit Auto Show. The last part of the colum states that hotrodders will no longer have to look for parts in wrecking yards.I wonder what the price tag will be.I have a feeling I will still be searching yards for parts. Ed
There has been a company in or around Sweden making 5 windows for the last few years . ford has more then likely bought them out. much like Harley did when a couple guys invented the soft tail frame .... Ya right lead me to the wreaking yard with 5 window parts.....
As usual the press gets it wrong. The bodies are produced by 'United Pacific' are stamped off shore and assembled in the U.S. They also sell body parts and the quality is said to be quite good. The bodies start at around $20,000. Ford only licenses them.
I think that maybe at some point in the near future there are going to be more Ford Coupes regestered on the road than Ford ever actually produced . Ed
Now coming up on the auction block, Hemi Cuda number 17 of 5 built.....

I think there are already more Ford Coupes on the road than Ford built - it's just that lots of them are "Glass"! It's to the point now where people are in shock when told it's a steel car!!!!

We'll have to see the quality of these 5-windows ....Brookville Deuce makes a top quality '32 right now IMO.
There is also a '40 Ford body available dennis-carpenter.com/1940FordCoupeBody.aspx ...I think reasonably priced when you do comparisons of the cost of even a project '40 .
