Nice to see something other than a '32 Ford [no offense Will] win the AMBR! Sure helps when you can afford to have Foose and Trepanier involved in building your car!
I am surprised no one on this sight commented on the mishap that happened during the judging. Sad situation all around for those involved at the GNRS, no matter who was at fault!
It isn't a "phantom" car, it is a Phaeton, which is a four door roadster. The car involved in the accident may be from Edmonton or somewhere up here.
Tell that to my spell check.
Roadster
In 1916, the Society of Automobile Engineersdefined a roadster as: "an open car seating two or three. It may have additional seats on running boards or in rear deck."[2] Additional seating in the rear deck was known as a rumble seat or a dickey seat. A roadster is still defined as an open car with two seats
Phaeton
After 1912, American use of the term began to be most closely associated with the "triple phaeton" body configurations that had room for three ("rows" of) seats, whether all three were installed or not. Common usage further evolved to refer to a car body style with a rear seating area extended for added leg room or for an extra row of seating. This often gave the vehicle the appearance that it was meant to be chauffeur-operated.This also led to the term "phaeton" becoming similar to, and eventually interchangeable with, the term "touring car
Nice car still not a roadster My guess would be they make this crap up so people dont get bored to death looking at 500 32 fords stuffed in one building. The wrecked car is the pineapple princess II . I think the rod shop in Calgary built it.
But Chip Foose said it's a roadster so must be a roadster. My El Camino must be a coupe' w/open trunk. After all I've seen a 53' Corvette kit car win "BEST ORIGINAL CAR OF SHOW" in Leamington, even the best shows mess up. I like it when the little guy wins and could care less about any corporate build.

simplistically, roadster roadster pickup, touring/phaeton, none of them has glass side windows, they use cloth curtains with glass inserts , attached to the body and windshield by snap fasteners to keep the weather out.
Convertables, cabriolets, convertible sedans, all have roll up side windows, that designates them as convertibles.
I'm OK with the phaeton ...good looking car .....surprised it's not Ford powered ....oops , my mistake , it's all the Ford roadsters ( coupes , phaetons ) that are "uniquely" 350 Chevy powered ...I had it backwards .
