An Etobicoke man ended up stabbed and beaten when trying to buy a computer on the Hamilton Mountain Thursday evening.

 

Around 9 p.m., a 25-year-old man from Etobicoke came to Hamilton to buy a Macbook Pro he’d found for sale online. The man met the seller and another man in the area of Garth Street and Garrow Drive.

 

The three men got into a vehicle to go to the seller’s home – and that’s when the trouble started. The two men demanded money. One of the suspects stabbed the victim with a knife while the other pulled out an expandable baton and beat him with it, police say.

 

The victim was able to get free and run from the car. He got to a neighbouring house and asked that the people living there call the police while the suspects took off in their car.

 

By the time officers got there, the suspects had fled. An ambulance took the victim to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The suspects didn’t get any of his money, police say.

My friend had an interview with Hamilton Police Service. Parked his vehicle in next lot. After the interview he walked up to his car found 2 males trying to steal it. He was then assaulted.
He now is a police officer with London

 Sad to say, but this could happen anywhere. Any major city has its lowlifes but it also has great people too. 

People need to be aware of putting themselves in bad situations. I don't mean to say we should be paranoid, as society has gone beyond paranoia, but to be cautious. 

If your gut says "maybe this isnt the best idea" then we should listen to it. Going for a drive with a couple of guys is a huge NO. Look at what happened to Tim Bosma.

so the sellers couldnt bring the computer with them to meeting spot,,mmmmm .here get in my car ill take you to the computer cause i know you have money on you to buy the mac book....what was this guy thinking....

Reminds me of that poor guy in Cambridge (I think) that got killed trying to sell his truck.
